How stupid are Manu?

United are not in the same financial league as Citeh and Chelsea. Those teams are funded by bottomless pits of the black stuff.

There is only so many times United can roll the financial dice.

Not exactly. Although FFP has been a tremendous disappointment, United's commercial prowess is not easily matched. While Chelsea is quick to shed spare parts, United's problem is that the people in charge don't seem to have any clear idea what the puzzle looks like and they're forcing together mismatched pieces. How many other clubs can assemble £300m in transfers so poorly?

I hope they keep it up, I'm really enjoying the show.

This may seem far-fetched, but part of me says the situation at OT has been somewhat engineered by SAF. He won so much, but I feel maybe became a touch paranoid about being replaced by someone who could continue that gravy train of success and possibly surpass him.
Hence he got Moyes to move knowing that Moyes was not a winner, and in his position then of influencing a successor to Moyes, he maybe floated the LVG boat knowing he's an ageing, flaky, busted flush too.

And so his legacy is assured for years to come.

I think Ferguson truly thought Moyes would carry his legacy (but how cold would it be to bring in Moyes as you suggested?), Ferguson himself even seemed to underestimate his own contribution to the side.

If he had brought in Moyes as an assistant the way he wanted, wonder what would have come out of that. (Still don't see Moyes as a CL-winning manager)

FPP won't be riding to their rescue.

It is like a mirage in the desert.......it is a farce and Arsene Wenger has already declared it as good as dead.

36 million for a nineteen year old nobody's heard of lol ..good stuff Ed you beaut
It's baffling. Obviously he may develop into a good player as he is only young, but his scoring rate hasn't been that remarkable to say the least.

It is a lot of money for a player who isn't a finished article yet, and may never actually be that good. Another Shaw?

We got Lukaku for £7m less and his strike rate was pretty remarkable for his age and proven in each league he'd played in. Panic buy...
