How stupid are Manu?

United have spent somewhere in the region of £300 million in the last two and a half years and they seem no further on.

What happens if this doesn't work?

Are they going to do the same?

United are not in the same financial league as Citeh and Chelsea. Those teams are funded by bottomless pits of the black stuff.

There is only so many times United can roll the financial dice.

They were hoping this FPP thingy was going to tilt the balance back in their favour but that is proving to be a toothless tiger even quicker than everyone knew it would do.

Cloudy outlook for United at the moment, I would say.

Transfer window is still open so all can still change but I really think 4th is possible.

At some point Utd are going to get their act together and the chance will go for the foreseeable future but it doesn't look like it is going to be this season.

United will still get top four by default. Liverpool suck big sweaty balls and the names on Spurs' teamsheet against us wouldn't look out of place at Hull. Then there's us, but our central midfield blob formation will get us a few points and lose us every meaningful game 1-0.

I think Rooney maybe unlucky not to get a pen there. On MOTD there looks like Williams clips his ankle with his left before making tackle will his right

Don't disagree with LVG being clueless......he certainly seems past his sell by date as a top class coach.

Sacking him would add to the general air of ennui around United these days as a new coach would be looking to bring his own players in and ship some of the current ones out.

This will cause yet more haemorrhaging of cash as they look to compete with people they cannot compete with in the long term Moneyball game.

United fans need to get real.

Accept there are periods in any club's existence when they will be in the doldrums and allow a manager time to build a squad in a proper fashion again.

United always had a team comprised of young, homegrown talent, bargain buys from around the country and big money star signings.

This new found Galacticos approach will ruin them for years to come.

This may seem far-fetched, but part of me says the situation at OT has been somewhat engineered by SAF. He won so much, but I feel maybe became a touch paranoid about being replaced by someone who could continue that gravy train of success and possibly surpass him.
Hence he got Moyes to move knowing that Moyes was not a winner, and in his position then of influencing a successor to Moyes, he maybe floated the LVG boat knowing he's an ageing, flaky, busted flush too.

And so his legacy is assured for years to come.

A bizarre summer for them, no doubt - some absurd links to players they stood little chance of enticing nevermind signing. Still, Depay looks a solid talent. Of course, it's fairly negated by the disaster that is Romero
