How stupid are Manu?

The amount of injuries they have is crazy, all them kids playing last night, in this crucial game, just shows how bad their recruitment has been.
Such a nasty injury to Shaw was very bad luck but otherwise a lot of their injuries have been fairly predictable - Jones/Smalling have been regulars in the physio room for years, Shaw struggled for fitness last season as did Rojo.

So having Jones/Smalling/Rojo/Blind as their only experienced CBs was always going to be a risk with the number of competitions they are in, especially since the latter two are also cover for LB.

LVG has concentrated on getting out a lot of the "deadwood" from the squad but it has left it paper thin.

This was the United team that finished the game: De Gea, Borthwick-Jackson, Smalling, Blind, Varela, Carrick, Fellaini, Lingard, Powell, Depay, Martial

That has got to be the worst united team in my life time (21 years) at least.

they may have had a worse one under moyes. I remember them playing a back 3 of mcnair, blackett and jones or something like that. Then again, they may have had better attacking players.

I didn't know it was possible to be this spoilt:

That's because we are a trophies drenched club. What a fantastic manager SAF was but 20 odd years we won two CL's is relatively average for such fantastic manager.

I just don't see why anyone would expect so much from van gaal then. He is not that type of manager. He has and never will be a trophie winning manager and maybe the availability of such managers is the thing keeping our supporters looking over their shoulders.

oh yeah, different expectations...what Ferguson brought was success and lovely football, he deserves to be remembered as among the very best in the world. Van Gaal is a results man who clings to the (false) idea he created modern tiki-taka 15 years ago. He's like a more arrogant Sam Allardyce who's dice just got really lucky.

Still, not conceding a goal in your last 6 home games isn't just one way of interpreting it, it's evidence of a really sound defence game. If the attack clicks and the rest holds, then the fans will easily forget their booing.

It's really a tremendous foundation. All LVG needs is £300M or so in transfers to add the missing talent and they're set.

@LocalNative @SerenityNigh

Not.necessarily for us, just that he'd be considered a £20mil+ flop and LVG may choose to move him on.

Surprised Fellaini is still there also.

According to most, Memphis is still a kid. Give him time to prove his worth. Sometimes a kid goes through a rough spell in a new place before proving he's the Catalan sex you've been waiting for. Obviously Memphis isn't Catalan, but give give him time before you brand him a bust.

Moyes had feck all to do with any CL progress that season. That was down to the senior players, the likes of Evra, Vidic, RVP. We've seen similar happen at Chelsea (Di Matteo, Grant).

No need to be so defensive.

It is a funny image doing the rounds on the internet is all.

Not meant as in invitation to discuss the causes of the decline of United in the post Ferguson era.

And this is the drawback of posting on another team's fan site.......as often as not they are loling @ your own team's travails.

Hmm there are still senior players with lots of experience in the squad. Carrick, Rooney etc. Why aren't those players helping Utd get through what ought to be an easier group?
