How stupid are Manu?

Have to admit I feel sorry for the man, he has come across as an honest and dignified guy, haven't seen a single instance of his supposed legendary arrogance, the media make me sick to my stomach....

Agree, also Moyes had a tough time there as well, they will never get another Alex Ferguson and now their local rivals have just signed one of the best manager in the world and they are looking at Jose who not known for building a long term plan and is a circus. It could get worse for them if the rumours are true about giggs taking over

That would be an epically stupid reason for them not to fire him. They b have turnover approaching half a billion pounds per annum and just lost to Midgetland FC in the losers competition of Europe, if they are trying to save a few quid by not having to pay out his contract the ones in charge need their heads checking.
I'd agree and I'm not sure the validity of that argument, yet it's been mentioned a number of times in the press and on social media etc.

Would it be sensible with money at their disposal? No, but I don't think their hierarchy is entirely competent so you never know what's going on.

Maybe to save face? Both parties split on amicable terms? I'm sure it would look better in the press for both parties and allow talks with others.

Realistically he will not be there in the long term, so it's just about managing the situation in the most sensible, appropriate way.

Power lies with Company Board (mainly Woodward + Glazers) but Fergie alliance retains huge influence on the ground at OT and Carrington. Charlton=anti-Mourinho; Fergie too (strung him along in 2012/13: ignore public 'matey' image). Gill was pro- in 2013, overall more anti- now. Fergie views Jose as "a pup", not in his league. Hated losing to him so often & had to use diff approach to him compared to Wenger, Benitez. Fergie knew Mourinho wanted Utd job so strung him along. His final "victory" was stiffing him over 2013 succession: power and control.

Fergie furious @ loss of influence.Hates Wward&his commercial dept, tells pals Utd is "all about money now" (despite it paying him £2m p/a). Gill's role usurped by Wward since '05 so dislike there too. Gill (amazingly) popular with OT staff. Fergie sidelined by Glazers since 2013. Co92 represent way for Fergie to re-gain lost influence, hence pushing Giggs as manager. Fergie eyes "back seat driver" role, wants LVG out.Wward OK'd 'Fergie tip' Moyes in 2013 so must stick with LVG to avoid 2 failures on record.Needs LVG to see out season for "honourable" exit

Woodward wants Co92 'legend' for marketing purposes but hates competition from Co92 'brand': MUFC employees banned from Co92 hotel last year. Woodward appoints Giggs, gives Ferg back influence; appoints Jose, Ferg shunted but Giggs might quit. Plus sacking LVG looks bad = STALEMATE. Wward clueless re f'ball matters & terrified of making wrong call. Has to keep stringing Mourinho along (Dec contact+last week) in meantime.

Mourinho DESPERATE for Utd for years; now ready to wait but knows Wward is flakey + no guarantees; trying to put pressure on re "other jobs". Added factor to LVG being shown as failure is Wward under pressure in Florida: Glazers been talking to potential new CEO who is Fergie ally. Other big problem for Woodward is sacking LVG + missing CL is v expensive. As is Mourinho. Giggs represents budget Glazer-tastic replacement

Other strands: Mourinho agent Mendes is 'friends' with Wward; also long in business with Ferg+Gill & now Co92 through ValenciaFC & Peter Lim. Rooney also a factor:still biggest draw for sponsors - being onside with him helps get in with Wward, hence Co92 praising his "performances". Fergie OK'd Co92 to bash LVG in media until Dec;then gave backing to LVG when Mourinho available. Pro-Giggs media message now more desperate. Entire shambles = Glazers reaping what theyve sown since 2005: theyre reluctant to even invest in youth system as it's "not cost effective"

Alex Ferguson is a really messed up individual. What a horrible, spiteful and petty man. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he purposefully left behind a bad squad so he'd look better by comparison.

Do you mean that terrible squad that he won the league by 10 points with?
yep, you watched them that season, did they ever strike you as a title winning side? It's a kopite thing to say but that really was the worst United side in memory.(to that point) I count that 2013 PL title as one of SAF's greatest achievements, it was his sheer bloody-mindedness and force of will that carried them to the title that year. Load of averageness and a fit and firing RVP. Replace him with a milquetoast like Moyes and RVP not healthy, it's no surprised they finished 7th.

Which is why I used the phrase "claims", they could very well be making things up to get subscribers.

However that they posted Fergie wanted Mourinho in 2013 doesn't necessarily contrdict what they wrote above as they did say Fergie strung Mourinho along with promises at the time - they could have had their info from people in either the Man Utd or Jose camp who believed the overtures were genuine.

Just seen that utd forward has scored two more today againsg arsenal.

if he is as good as the sudden hype around him then with Depay and Martial they look set in those positions for a long time. Not dissimilar to us and spurs.
