I remember both, and the Cat was a top manager who built two separate title winning sides. Football wise the Cats teams played magical, magical football and if i wanted to be entertained it would be the Catterick teams all day long. But at the end of the day, success is about trophies, and Howards side won more. So if i was forced to choose I would choose Howard

It has to be Howard for his trophy haul, however this is too binary a choice for me. A full book could be written o these two where the student became the master.

Both former players, both excellent managers with the latter playing under the former. Howard was unarguably the better player but then he played in a better Everton side - that being Harry’s Everton side.
