Oh, and what's with the "Evertonians aren't happy if they aren't moaning about something" jibe? Are we not allowed to criticise players when we perceive them to be playing poorly/ at fault? Other players who have been below par at points in the season have gotten criticism, just as those who have played well for matches/ periods been praised for their performances. Regardless of their form though, they always receive my full support at the match so I don't really see why it's an issue...

It's really not that hard. Evertonians moan as much as the next club if not more. If they aren't happy about something (rare), they'll find something to be upset about. That's a fact, not a jibe.

I find the idea of people who live thousands of miles away and therefore never go to games, casting aspertions on whether the people who do are real supporters somewhat ironic, but there you go.

I do enjoy the way you keep couching your opinions like "Howard is the least of our problems right now" as facts, though. "Well I disagree there bill, oh wait it's a fact you say well nevermind, that's good enough for me. Lets move on".

Do explain to me how Howard is less of a problem than Baines, Jagielka or Mirallas since as the 'least of our problems' he'd clearly have to be.

Personally I'd argue the least of our problems are gremlins, vampires or the troubles in somalia as they're unlikely to cost us games, our goalkeeper otoh might well do.

I've been to an Everton match. You?

I find your post highly offensive and your tone frankly sucks. You don't like MY OPINIONS, too bad, I could give a ****.

So let me rephrase your original post:

"I find the idea of people who go to Goodison on a regular basis that cast aspersions on those who cannot or are unable to go as not real supporters as somewhat ironic, but there you go."

And I do deal in facts, and those who are unable to deal with those facts respond just as you have. With very little in detail and even less in substance.

Steer clear with your bull**** or go find another Everton forum. Why? Cause you're an ass (on more than one occasion.)

Er yeah, that lists seems to claim Jens Lehman and Fabian Barthez were better than Neville Southall and Tim Howard is better than Manuel Neur so I think we can ignore that.

Also, I don't see how people can claim the opinions in this thread have nothing to do with nationality when the general theme is Americans defending/promoting him and everyone else disagreeing.

Sorry but it's not an all or none. Several Americans on here (not that you would notice) have been critical of Howard in the past. You and others take it to the conclusion that we think he can do no wrong.

I guess by your logic, I can come to the conclusion that all others on here are anti-American by their criticism of Howard?

And herein lies the problem. Everyone wants him replaced with a better keeper for peanuts. I mean, world class keepers for 3 million? It's just not happening, what kind of rock does someone need to hide under on the continent to be that talented and that cheap?

Courtois-6 million
De Gea-17 million
Cech-7 million

I wouldn't be sad to see Howard go, but let's get realistic as to what it would cost to replace him.

Stop making sense, many on here won't have it.

They expect that the next top drawer keeper would come to Everton for free.

It's not easy to find good keepers at bargain prices, but they are available if you look hard enough.

Joe Hart cost City 100k, Krul cost 220k, Vorm 1.5 million, Mignolet 2 million, Begovic 3.25 million. All better than Howard. Shall I go on?

As I was accused of "picking my transfer targets" in another thread, I guess I could level the same here. Hindsight is 20/20.

So I'll tell you in advance what the response would be here:

"We bought who to replace Tim Howard and for how much????" (Facepalming commences)

For every jewel unearthed, there are 100 that were bought for those same prices or more that didn't pan out. Put those in your list and then I might listen.

Good to see that because i am from the USA my opinion doesnt matter to most followed by the assumption that because clearly i cannot go to a game i am therefore knowledgeable.

After sorting that out I think I can finally rest easier know that the expectations are so low that on an evolutionary scale an American's soccer IQ is somewhere between a not so bright rock and a food processor.

__________

Get bent. Howard made some definite bone head plays (starfish) but i wish you realize he kept us in several games during our stretch of game where the defense resembled swiss cheese.
The Save vs Man City or how about that punch vs Stoke that led to mirallas goal for the winner?

no need to apologize for hating americans...I expect that from most of you. apologize for hating on Howard :)

Don't worry about it mate.

I found out very quickly that going to matches on a regular basis at Goodison doesn't improve the knowledge any more than you or I watching on television as evidenced by quite a few posts on here.

You'll also find out that many on GOT have selective amnesia when it comes to players.

In short, we've got a few whoppers as "supporters" too.

He's claiming that people disregard his opinion because he's American. I'm saying that people are noting his nationality because he shares one with the man he's defending.

...and that needs to stop. It's a bad habit on here that's slowly crept in over the past year or two.

It's really not that hard. Evertonians moan as much as the next club if not more. If they aren't happy about something (rare), they'll find something to be upset about. That's a fact, not a jibe.

Just because you happen to say it, doesn't make it fact, no matter how much you would like it to be. And tbf, it even takes away from the points you were trying to make. Please, provide evidence for these facts...

It wuz Southall...he done ruined it for everyone.

I never had "the fear" with Martyn though, it has to be said.
This, this sums it up for me, Southall and, to a lesser extent, Martyn, were different class. Evertonians expect higher standards from their keepers than most, big gloves to fill and, truth be told, Howard does give me the fear from time to time.
