I've had enough of posters like AF (and I'm confident I"m not the only one) and if he continually needs you rushing to his defense everytime he sticks his foot in his mouth, then perhaps GOT isn't for him.

You haven't though, if you honestly thought I was out of line and shouldn't be posting any more you'd have infracted me which you haven't.

Posters like me are only on this forum because, as a mod, you've decided I'm allowed and haven't made any rules which my style of posting breaks. If you truly have had enough of me, you can do something about it.

Only problem with your post above though is that YOU were the one questioning one's support because they don't or can't get to games regularly. I haven't seen anyone on here who can't get to games regularly call out someone who does.

And I never questioned anyone's support, not once.

What I said was

I find the idea of people who live thousands of miles away and therefore never go to games, casting aspertions on whether the people who do are real supporters somewhat ironic, but there you go.

And I do. It's ironic because you'd assume that anyone calling some of our fans "the worst sort of fans" or 'support' in inverted commas would be superfans who look down on other supporters because they go to every game and the like not someone who's been to two games in their entire life.

I'd still find it arrogant and irritating if a superfan was to question other people's support but at least they truly had no sin before they started throwing stones. They wouldn't be sitting in a glass house the way I think you and skeleton are.

A fan supports a team in two ways, by paying money to the club and by cheering on the team in ways that encourages them. American blues, empirically, do this less than those english blues whos support they're questioning. Now that's not your fault and I don't think it make you less of a fan. You're as much a fan as the rest of us.

But if you're going to start questioning people's support, you have to be a better fan than the rest of us and you're not. I don't think you and skelton have any right to judge whether other people are proper or good fans.

And if you argue that you do then other fans have the right to judge you in turn, something we both agree they shouldn't.

That's all I've said. I apologise if you've interpreted that to mean anything else then what it did or if you took this quote "No I just hate americans and think they know nothing about football." as to be serious and not the obvious sarcasm I thought it was.

Come back on GOT when you're ready from some serious debate and less of the name calling.

I have never called you a single name, you however called me an ass, so this is a puzzling one. As far as I'm concerned I have no issues with you as a poster and am not arguing against you, merely two argumental devices you've used ('calling your opinions facts' and 'casting doubt over other people's support') which I disagree with.

I mean I'm not upset about being called an ass, just to be clear, it's not inaccurate but it seems odd to be accused of name calling when I haven't done it.

Not sure I can take the first half seriously...

However, I agree that the money that would be required to upgrade Howard is much better spent on a striker, a winger, and a center back. The biggest goalkeeping concern should be developing a young backup to take over from Howard in the not-so-distant future.

We could keep us Americans happy and go after Sean Johnson...

new first choice keeper should be second priority after striker imo. we have mirallas, oviedo and pienaar for the wings, we have distin, jagielka, heitinga, duffy for centre back, whilst at keeper we now have ONLY howard who has shown this season he's not up to the standard we need; not just based on this season either, he's not a top 6 keeper anymore. I do geniuinly get scared when a cross comes in, always feels like a goal

Only one questionable goal in the past two games, against Germany when he parried out to an oncoming attacker. He was a bit unsighted, but thought he could have done better. The rest of the goals were just grade school defending from the US.
