Howard

Americans coming on GOT and pointlessly defending american players is becoming standard. Hibbert is a scouser, but if he had a poor game I'd say so. Why do americans feel like they have to defend them? Just call a spade a spade.

Englishmen coming on here and pointlessly having a go at Howard is becoming standard. When Howard has a poor game, I say so. Why do Englishmen feel like they have to have a go at Howard when he makes a mistake?

We had this discussion before. Apparently you missed it.

Go back and educate yourself and then come back and contribute to the discussion.

Not just talking about yesterday either. Just defending Howard, Donovan and Dempsey in recent times.

Defending those three from what?

Some idiot in their basement taking shots at these players on the internet because they had a poor match.

Nah, don't think I need to defend them. Their body of work speaks for themselves.

But I'll say this. I've been on here long enough and most have been on here long enough to know that when Howard has a poor match, "the Americans" on here say so.

Somehow this isn't good enough. Now we're required to say that he just isn't good enough for Everton? Well why would we toe that line when most of "the Americans" don't agree with that.

But you and the rest feel free to moan about it until the cows come home while I go to bed at night knowing that Tim Howard will in all probability be our number one between the sticks for years to come.

krul had a lot more harder saves to make. howard had a combination of jags, distin and player of the year heitinga in front of him as well as the best LB in the league and hibbert had his best season in blue at RB.

Krul had a combination of people i've never heard of like williamson, james perch, the fact that an accident waiting to happen called collicini stood out head and shoulders above the rest speaks volumes

Sorry but I'm calling BS on that one.

If you want to try and use a statement like that as your stick to beat Tim Howard over the head with, please have some basis in fact attached to it.

I'm fairly confident that no one has gone back and looked at every save Krul and Howard made the compared them in terms of levels of difficulty.

Stats are totally irrelevent. He could keep a load of clean sheets but if he does what he did last night it costs us points. They are the only stats that matter. Football isnt a statistical game.

Yes, I'll be sure to remember that when that stick is brought out as well.

I think everyone is entitled to their say, and I agree that Howard has been exceptionally poor so far this season.

I hope that he improves, but then again - he might not.

This is where a contingency plan comes in!

Support and rate are a different thing. I don't support England's best 3 players but I rate them because, no offense, England are a better team than USA.

San Marino's 3 best players of all time are probably all gash.

Same one that smashed us in the last World Cup...oh...wait....

I agree that everyone is entitled to have their say. That's what makes the forum run.

But the "American" comments need to taper off here.

Being an American Evertonian has absolutely nothing to do on whether or not I (or others) rate Tim Howard.

This line of "reasoning" needs to stop. Please.

After all, if I just kept on and on about the Aussies on here with Cahill, or the Irish and Coleman, it would grow pretty tiresome pretty quick for most on here.

Saying that American Evertonians only defend Howard because he's American is about as valid as saying English Evertonians only say Baines is one of the best LBs around because he's English. In other words, not very.

Yeah we need a good backup keeper that can challenge Howard for his role.

He has been having a few more errors in recent times.

He let in two goals on Monday I wouldn't say it was pointless. We have a go at anyone who makes multiple mistakes, over a long period of time.

Apparently so.

I'm good thanks.

Poor performances, not, committing to us or refusing to play when still under contract to do so.

Good one.

'Body of work' brrp.

But a lot don't admit that he's under-performed for quite some time.

I didn't say he wasn't good enough for Everton.

If his performances improve then I'll have no qualms about that.

Kay said it best.

"Give it a rest."
