Oh and as for the stats,
Stats for a keeper are meaningless. It only takes one second for them to win/lose a team a match.

But I honestly couldnt care less how well he plays for the US.
Stats for most players are meaningless.
Joe Allen's 16373738383% pass completion rate will testify for this.
I mean this with the greatest respect.
But I honestly couldnt care less how well he plays for the US.
It has relevance when we talk about his performances here and his form. Sames goes for any of our international players - including Baines, Jagielka, Fellaini, Mirallas, etc. ANY of them.
I'm very interested in hearing about how our players perform internationally because I think it helps explain how they perform with us.
Baines has carried his excellent form to his National Team, which I love to see. I'm also very curious as to where Belgium will play Fellaini in upcoming qualifiers.
And how frequently he playes against these teams? Maybe he just used to be decent / luckboxed or manages to concentrate for short periods of time.
He only faces these top teams competitively in World Cups every four years so can't really put much weight on a few games. With his current rate with us he could have decent games every two out of three and then loses the one out of three. That means odds are he could go through a tournament without causing losses even though he'd be as gash as he normally is.
And this. What he can or can't prove every four years is rather irrelevant as I don't fancy them.
Baines plays well for England cos hes a quality player.
And I honestly dont care how well he plays either.
I want him to do well, for his sake, but if he stinks for England, I honestly dont care.
Tim Howard is an Everton player and hes playing terrible, I wouldnt watch the US play at the bottom of my garden.
Goat, no one is asking you to. I am using it as an example of form, which I am allowed to in the Howard thread. More power to you if you don't want to use internationals as examples. I do, so I want to mention it. That's all.
at the end of the day royston hes a poor poor keeper who has cost us a large amount of points FACT, doesnt come off his line ,and punches every cross that he does manage to get too ,time to go big timeYou can't really use stats like number of saves or percentage of saves made to judge a keeper's ability. Say with a striker, number of goals or number of assists is a solid method because those two create goals which win you games. If a striker scores 20 goals and another scores 10 you'd typically say the one scoring 20 had a better season.
However, a 'save' can be anything from a crap shot from 30 yards that dribbles into the keeper's hands, or a fantastic diving save from a header 6 yards out. It's pretty hard to decide a keeper's worth that way.
YEAH GOAT, NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR GARDEN
