Ive never had a problem with Howard, in the past, I think hes done a job and over the Years hes made some great saves, I suppose I was a "fan" of his.

But it seems that every week hes messing up big time, I can overlook 1 or 2 mistakes every few months, but I simply cant overlook his current "form".

No problem, bud, and fair enough. His form is poo right now, I can't argue that. 100% right. Just don't want to sell him.

al habsi is a class keeper considering he has ****e carthorse defenders infront of him caldwell anyone? its a good job wigan are capable of scoring otherwise they would be relegated when you look at their defense.

Howards just lost it imo and we couldnt afford anyone like your cech's, lloris's etc. and I think its just a question of when johnny is gonna go either in jan or the summer and not if.

Not for a keeper they don't.

No stat can tell me that Tim Howard doesn't need need to flap and crap himself whenever put under pressure.

As Stek says. It's not form. It's his style.

As a keeper myself I can tell you that you do start losing it as you go along. I'm not as good as I was when I was say 25 for example. Tim was and had been great for us. But you must see we need a new keeper?

Absolutely disagree. Stats help tell a story about shot stopping, distribution, ability to handle crosses...Billycopper's posts were fascinating. Are they the full story? Of course not. And I don't agree on style either because I rated Tim for Everton as early as last year. And the many years before that. He's poo *this year* for me, which means form, not style. I know people don't want to hear it, but if it's style, it would appear on the national team too. And it doesn't. Which is why I was using it as an example.

We absolutely could use a challenger. I agree with that - can't keep going the way we are. Forever putting Tim on shelf - nah. I'd rather we have two viable options and see which one nets out on top. I'm not ready to kick him out.

But a keeper near the bottom of the league will more than likely make more saves than a keeper near the top. It doesn't mean Rob Green is a better keeper than Joe Hart just because he's made more saves.

Keepers stats need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

I'm all for Tim having some competition. But he needs dropping. And needs it ASAP.
