I don`t need stats to tell me he`s been poor. I watch the match and use my eyes.
If Mucha really is so bad that he's not even worthy of playing 1 game to even try and give Howard a kick up the ass then why the hell is he at the club? Either use him when your number 1 is gash or get rid of him, save his wage and use a youth keeper as emergency reserve.
1 game. If he's gash and concedes crappy goals then we're as we were with Howard. If he's good we get a decent keeper and Howard works hard in training at saving balls and avoiding goalposts. Doesn't make sense not to use him for one game.
Fair. Very, very fair.
We all know its not Moyes way though, he'd rather stick with what he knows and hope Howard gets through this. Which was alright for a bit but its not just a poor run of form like it might be with say a striker, he's just doing things a Premier league keeper should never do regardless of form.
He's like a nervous kid who got made to go in goal but hates it with some of his attempts at saves this season.
Those are only the stats for this year though, right? Just curious. I believe his stats in the previous years were much better from what I remember posted.
We could possibly be on the coat tails of City for a bunch of reasons - Tim definitely being one of them. Jelavic scoring would be another, or Osman hitting the target another. Mirallas not going down...etc. Don't think it's fair to pin that one only on Tim...though man has he contributed this year. More than in previous years for sure. No excuses. A few points are definitely pinned right to his bald little head. And trust me, he knows it.
BS
Just my opinion, like.
Moyes seems at the end of his rope lately though - maybe a change is coming? He is calling him out, and there's the Butland search...so...maybe? I'm not willing to say no change like usual. I think something might be bubbling - wouldn't surprise me to see Mucha for sure.
Yeah the stats do just illustrate current form. A couple of years ago I was saying that I thought he was burnt out from playing international tournaments every year for about 5 years. He has played 200 consecutive games for us too. When you think that Wenger and Rodgers are saying that their players are mentally drained after 16 games it stands to reason that Howard must be feeling it too. I imagine that suffering from Tourette's must be pretty tiring as well.
Ideally I think we need someone a bit younger than Tim who Moyes would trust to play in the Premier League. We could then hopefully get the best out of both of them through rotation. Howard is bound to have dips in form but there is no choice but to play through them at the moment because Mucha would only get a game in an emergency.
Fair Do's. IMO he punches when he can catch, gets outmuscled by players who get in his face from set pieces, clings to his line when he should come and clatter the forwards and dives behind his line instead of across it to avoid impacts with the goalposts and is ridiculously indecisive when coming off his line for through balls. The exact opposite of the top keepers.
Cowardice in footballing terms I should have added.
Solid points. Mental tiredness could definitely be factoring in, especially with the fact that he is literally our last stand in so many of those international games he plays. Automatic starter. Won't change either - he has WC qualifying this year, WC next year, Gold Cup year after that, and then a potential combined Copa Americas the year after that. So essentially he's entering into another period with an international tourney every year. Brad Guzan is pushing him though - so will be interesting to see how that shapes up.
I don't agree with chunks of your list, but to each his own.
