In 1984 WPC Yvonne Fletcher aged 25 was shot and killed from a Libyan embassy window in Westminster, yet another murdering [Poor language removed] gets away with it through Diplomatic Immunity!
Also PC Blakelock murdered at Broadwater farm Tottenham in 85, they know the killer but refuse to prosecute

Finally watched this last night for anybody that was there this is a must see .
On a side note why did we sell Andy Gray ?
I get bringing in Lineker but we should have kept Gray as well. I like many others thought that at the time and history proved us right.
In 1986 we lost a double to an inferior team Gray could have made all the difference.

Gray tells the story of what happened when he spoke to toffee tv.

He said something like Howard came to his house to tell him Villa were interested and whether he wanted to go as we could get Lineker, Gray said basically why would he leave the league champions but then Kendall said he was going to sign Gary anyhow and would probably play Sharpy up top with him. So Andy left but he said that he kind of wished he had stayed and fought for his place.

Watched this a few weeks back.

Brilliant - I was way too young to enjoy the success at the time, but makes you really yearn for those days again doesn't it?

Great film, deserves way more publicity than it actually gets.
The team didn’t get the credit it deserved because of the european ban which caused the team to break up, kendall left and everything fell apart. What should have been a period of dominance from a young, vibrant and talented team saw it’s demise quicker then it should have been.

True and they also didn't get the credit, or never would, due to us not being the media darlings across Stanley Park.

We could've won a few titles in a row that decade but you always got the feeling the media and the FA were anxiously waiting for things to get back to how they should be, in their red tinged view.

You won't be disappointed, l lent my copy to my older brother - he stated only if outlays father who died in his late 50s adored Dave seeing him play other could have read that book .....
Another not to miss book is the Red Dragon ala Royston Vernon a fantastic book which I sposered to be published it's another classic......

I used to spend a lot of time in frank smiths cafe on the dock road in the 90s when working on the Waterloo dock flats , he never stopped telling me about Dave Hickson would wax lyrical about him , my late father in law loved him too and he also seen Dixie Dean play

The book is Royston Vernon the Blue Dragon - Dave Hicksons book is also a cracker , Dixie Deans book faith in our family is a cracking autobiography as the other two are ;)

;) Cheers mate will try and pick it up sometime and have a read , your namesake and mine were my first big Everton disappointment , remember as a kid the papers bigging up the Joe-Joe partnership and how great it was going to be big fella little fella pairing , didn’t end well think they were both gone within 18 months and can’t recall Joe Royle playing too much due to injury

He had Back problems - but went to City and did well there in fact he got recalled to the England team - I disliked Latchford at first , but realised what a prolific Goal scorer the Latch turned out to be for us.....

This may well have been posted elsewhere.

Sky on demand now have this available......

If you have Sky download it on to your planner, apparently well worth it according to posts I've read here and elsewhere
