Eggs, can't say I recall a half season as bad as this one though.

...you're probably right, but not forgetting Rathbone's departure and the repeated setbacks Jagielka and Neville had when returning from long-term knocks.

Repeating what was said to me a good while ago, Finch Farm has state of the art equipment but there is nobody with the innovation to strategically apply it.

RM

I’m not someone who works in percentages. I don’t work on having a good defensive record to win things."
So what do you work on?

The most important thing he should be working on at the moment is the defence, Any side that defends like we do will concede goals every game. Also we need to learn how to tackle ffs, sort that out and the results will come as we've scored similar amount to last season. But we only need to concede 6 more and that's same amount for the whole of last season.

The last four games a lot of goals were from shocking defending, and all season the defending has been the worst I've seen for a long long time at this club

Tackle stats for the last 4 games

Southampton away - Southampton had 54 attempted tackles & were successful in 38, Everton had 17 attempted tackles & were successful in 15

Stoke home - Everton had 21 attempted tackles & were successful in 14, Stoke had 27 attempted tackles & were successful in 20

Newcastle away - Newcastle had 28 attempted tackles & were successful in 20, Everton had 23 attempted tackles & were successful in 13

Hull away - Hull had 46 attempted tackles & were successful in 30, Everton had 25 attempted tackles & were successful in 12

So the last four games we have had 54 successful tackles
I'm starting to have second thoughts about our first team coaching staff, who is working with the defenders

Forget about the Momentum, Dynamics & the Phenomenal & remember

When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

.......bit of feedback from yesterday's game;

- Distin apparently communicating that the dressing room is 'unhappy'.

- Medical situation is a mess (as I've been suggesting for over 12 months). Donachie left by mutual consent in the past week. Apparently 20+ hamstring injuries, including a player who has come back twice only for the severity of tear to increase. One player has gone abroad for an injection today.

- John Stones and Osman asked to travel with the team despite both being injured. They wanted to support even though unavailable. Great attitude. Stones appears to be walking ok, Osman has his foot in a protective boot.

- a number of players are turning out with injuries. Probably normal at this time of year but I understand this has been the case for a while and might partially explain the lack of sharpness.

- Jelavic agent says the hottest property at Everton is youngster called Liam Walsh (@swisso and @LinekersLegs might be interested). Central midfielder from Huyton with a bit of bite about him. The staff apparently think he's the real deal.
Cheers for the info Eggs, especially about Walsh, only seen him in the one England game but he was quietly competent in the holding midfielder at the base of a diamond.

The hamstring injury reoccurrence could also be Pienaar, it hasn't been clear hwat exactly has been keeping him out so long.

Also noticed Howard travelled to the game as well as Somes and Osman, good attitude by all three players given the current slump.

I was there too mate. The support's split and what you read on the web isn't representative of the "at the ground" support.
There's a substantial minority who want him out, but I'd say most people are prepared to give him more time.

Same with booing. On TV it probably sounds like all the support are booing at the end, but, round by where I was there were as many people clapping the players at the end as booing. The majority of people were disillusioned and did neither.
I suspect of those clapping the players all bar the few still with their heads in the sand were doing so as a token of appreciation for the handful of players who came over to applaud the fans, not as a gesture of support for the Martinez regime. Bear in mind also that many of the prospective booers will have long left the stadium. On the subject of which, as a reflection of the faith the fans have there were dozens leaving with still 20 minutes to go, and I've never seen that before with only a 2 goal deficit.

Wouldn't argue with that. Fair play to those players that came over, especially Barkley who ( I think ) stayed longest despite the boos, they knew they were going to get stick but came across anyway

I think EGGS this is the background of Donachie leaving but who is his replacement. With all theses injuries I would also ask what training is being done at FF. Did Donachie have a row with RM over the methods after all Donachie was there under or EX and no problems then.

This guy.

He was with my hometown MLS club before going to Everton in 2009. Fact: Once he left our club the Crew experienced an increase in total games missed. This means more players injured and longer duration. At the same time, Everton saw a significant decrease in avg time of injury. Keep in mind this was during Moyes tenure.
Once Martinez took the helm the team saw that number (of missed games) decline further on average compared to the league.

Tashjian has returned to Columbus in September which reflects in the length and number of injuries on the Everton team to date.

...I wont say this guy is the end all be all but it definitely appears that he has had a significant impact in both teams. Looks like he puts the players in good routines to prevent the injury in the first place.

Wow what our average tackles in winning form

Cheers Eggs......what is Distins gripe supposed to be? I really like him, but his form this season has been really poor ( along with others) so I don't see what his beef could be if he does indeed have one? Earlier in the season I thought he was harshly treated compared to Jagielka who was equally, if not more inconsistent.

In some respect I think it would be unhealthy for there to be no 'gripes' or unrest in the Club considering the shocking form at present. I would expect players, manager and coaching staff to be really challenging each other at present. I'd be more concerned if they weren't.

Wow what our average tackles in winning form

In the 5 Prem games we have won against WBA, Villa, Burnley. Weat Ham & QPR
Everton had a total of 133 attempted tackles & were successful in 89,
They had had 139 attempted tackles & were successful in 89,

Looks like we like to play teams in claret & blue & blue & white stripes

Why can't he get himself back man

Eggs, not for nothing, bit of feedback from whom exactly? Someone you know/yourself?

and on a similiar note, Distin said the 'dressing room is unhappy' with whom..?

Just lookgin for clarification mate, ta!

....sources, Riddick. My son was backroom at the Hull game, he was chatting with folk in the Directors Lounge. It was an agent who said he'd spoken with Distin the day before that match. Not certain if he was spinning a yarn or who is the subject of discontent.
