Why do people think Van Gaal is referring to Everton and not the Arsenal job if he's actually coming back to manage in England? I get that Brands is a loose connection, but Arsenal makes a lot more sense to me with Louis.
Possibly because it seems that due to Wenger's payoff and the fact that over the last 2 years Arsenal have seemingly gone over budget with regards to player wages and player transfers, it sounds like the new manager coming in is going to have less than £50m to spend on new players.

Struggle to join the dots with him saying that and popping up here, I have to admit.

Huge wage, total control over football matters, big transfer and wage budget, great academy, long term project, the opportunity to make history and be worshipped, a return to the NW and a chance to go up against United.

Prem football and proximity to the Wings restaurant v a continental job and being fired after one season.

His best mate is Brands.

Won the league together with AZ Alkmaar who are midtable fodder.

See?

Never ever take any notice of anything I say about football outside of L4.

I am utterly tragic.

Haven’t Arsenal said they are actively looking for someone with a track record of bringing youth through? If so he could well fit the bill for them.

Can’t see Arsenal going for a 66yo. From what I am reading they want someone long term. Also who will want to follow Wenger

Arsenal must know who they will get. No way would Kronke lob his safety blanket out without a pretty good idea who is lined up.

Who that is, not a flaming clue.

Just couldn’t see him at Arsenal. They will have their pick of whoever they want in Europe, I doubt they’d go for Van Gaal, he’d be a dampener for the fan base of any top 6 side after United but he could be a great fit for us.
He's also said if he were to manage in England again it would be at least in part his objective to stick it to United. Can't see that being here.

I would think they were putting feelers out. Like Moshiri I hope has being doing since Sam came in.

Why's that? Leicester were big strugglers and next season they won the league just to be mid-table season after. Far more important is a proper organistation up top, I mean CEO and DOF.
All of those appointments are important.
However the appointment of the right manager has an immediate reaction on the team and the club.. get it wrong and it will put the club back years...the Koeman fiasco has wasted 2 yrs already.

It could be if he got us competing for trophies again. If Moshiri sells him a dream of a huge transfer budget then he might back himself to deliver it.
