....interesting, might be a bit of value in there.
Did they quote odds for Allardyce staying?

Indeed when the likelihood is that he will be the next manager. Wouldn’t have to wait more than 48 hrs after a vacancy arising I think if he is the man. If it went on any longer then they have their sights set on someone else.

I read up on him in more detail over the weekend and whilst I have some concerns, what came through was his attention to detail, tactical awareness and man management.

There are lots of similarities to Martinez and I think he would benefit from a British No.2 but I’m sure he would bring a lot of enthusiasm to the job and give the place a lift.

I’m happy to support Silva if it’s him as indeed I’ll back any Everton manager until they show themselves undeserving of that support, Allardyce being a case in point.
If Koeman had left for Barcelona lol at the end of last season and Moshiri replaced him with Silva then I'm sure most would have been excited by it. He would have represented an unproven gamble but his career up to that point suggested he had the potential at least to be the next Poch.
His reputation has been greatly tainted by events at Watford though. Even before our interest his team conceeded a lot of goals and performed better away than home. Obvious echoes of Martinez. His willingness to bail out on his contract after only a handful of games reflected badly on his professionalism and the subsequent collapse must surely have made Mosh fearful.
Having a young attack at all costs manager is exciting but our defence is dire. Coleman aside the once fine Jags and Baines are now over the hill and Keane simply isn't very good but is going no where given the outlay.
Are we really going to replace Jags and Baines with the quality necessary to commit a lot more players forward? Recent transfer history suggests that's highly unlikely so it'd be one hell of a gamble having Silva as if we start leaking goals for fun we could easily nose dive again.
These thoughts must surely be giving Moshiri pause before deciding to undertake yet another change with more compo payments and upheaval.

Please. Not. Eddie. Howe.

..I had a little glance at the record of the lad at Fulham and it looks impressive to me. I am useless, though. I didn’t realise he was in charge when Watford got promoted but failed to agree a new deal with them. He appears to have been good for most of the clubs he’s managed but folk on here are very knowledgeable about the global game and might say he’s never been tested at the highest level.

Surprised nobody in the Premiership has taken a chance on him. There are no links but i’ve had a little interest @ 33-1. I don’t think you are keen;

Vieira would be an interesting choice. Has two season's worth of management experience - though in a weakish league - and seems to have done well there.

Personally, I'd take a PL experienced manager before I took on anyone else, but it might just be a masterstroke to employ someone like him.

Still Silva for me.
