..if Silva has been lined up, you would think he’s been perfectly placed to analyse this squad and put together his shopping list of players so he can hit the ground running when the window opens.

I think that would be a bit more reassuring if he has known the jobs his all along and has done a lot of his own scouting work, he won't be walking in brand new on June 1st and knows what to do

Who ever or if someone new comes in i expect to thread water at best next season -7th -10th, hopefully if it is the case they get time and patience to inbed a philosophy, implement a strategy and build a team. Chopping and changing is doing nothing but hurting the club holistically.

If Brands is THE one we wanted, and he IS what the club want/need, then the manager is of less importance.

Silva doesn't work, we move him on.

You know what mate, to me Brands is the key for this.

From his own admission we have been speaking/after him since 2016, everything anyone at PSV or his previous clubs say about him about the structure, the training and recruitment he has left has been nothing less then impressive.

He is a proper DoF, and its important he is in first (or someone) to provide the cub with the template for the manager and teams, 1st team down. If the manager doesnt fit it, then he moves onto the next one.

be better than fonseca in that hes managed to do well with portugal not turn them [Poor language removed]

Couldn't find a post by you regarding this, but who would you like to see managing us next season, @davek ?
Silva.

He's within our orbit of influence (probably the most important thing we need to understand as fans...that we can talk all we want of Tuchels but they're not coming) and he's got PL experience and some good ideas about how to play.

Reaching 8th with him would be far more entertaining than doing it with Allardyce.
