We won't keep this squad. It's turd.no I just don't think instant success is even possible with this squad.

I think he gets a bum rap on here.
There was a home six-pointer that he lost at Hull, which ultimately sent them down, but other than that I've been generally impressed with him. I'd certainly get behind his appointment.
The last thing we need is a "Moyes manager" 11 years of nothing. We need a winner.
Quite simple really. Someone who wins things with US.How do you define "winner".
Marco Silva won trophies abroad. Ah but they were in Mickey Mouse leagues and he got Hull relegated, we need someone who is a winner in this country......
............Roberto Martinez won an FA cup in England. Ah but that was a 1 off fluke and he got Wigan relegated and arsed us right up, we need someone who won loads of trophies in this country..........
............Phil Neville won loads of trophies and is now managing. Ah but he thinks top 10 is a good result for Everton and they were as a player..........
............Arsene Wenger won loads of trophies in this country as a manager. Ah but he's a dinosaur who won't buy decent defenders.
What kind of "winner" do we want?
Quite simple really. Someone who wins things with US.
Well yeah, thats what we all want.
But you don't know who that is until they actually do so.
Royle and Kendall didn't win anything until they joined us (well, Royle won the Div 2 title but people don't count lower leagues).
We don't need a winner. We need a good manager.
So you're saying we need a good manager who also wins things then?We need a good manager. Self explanatory really.
Good managers like Joe Royle or Howard Kendall. Not "winners" like Roberto Martinez or Ronald Koeman.
Spot on..I have an insight into the first team set up at Hull and he was not only very much liked, he was very much rated. I thought one of the big boys might take a chance on him when Hull went down.
Speaking generally, I think successfully appointing a manager has a lot to do with right person, in the right place, at the right time. I have no idea who we should get and it might even be a scattergun approach until we fall on the right bloke. I think we need somebody with a record of developing a team as opposed to inheriting one and can also demonstrate that he is effective bringing players in and improving them.
I like the Fulham manager but folk on here are much more knowledgeable than me about the global game and he probably falls down on not managing at the highest level.
..I don’t know about Silva, I don’t know if he’s for us but Hull were a basket case when he joined. They hardly had enough to make up a match day squad after selling a lot of players yet he gave them a real chance of staying up.
We're not in relegation trouble, so he isnt for us, when we had the idea he was we sat in the bottom 3, were now 8th and hoping to press on next season, we need a manager who has shown signs of being able to do that, not one who has shown signs of keeping clubs up.
Where's the fun in that?We should make it a rule that when someone suggests a possible manager on here and is mocked and sarcastically criticised, then the critic should at least offer a manager suggestion of their own.
It's easy to knock someones suggestion without offering one of your own.....
