I wanted Arteta here. I didn't want Neville here. Simple as that really mate.
And Neville actually wanted to be here while Arteta didn't
I hated his playing style, and his dad's style of playPhil Neville worked hard while he was here and he put the time in and he then retired and moved on
I mean, I didn't want him on the playing squad anymore and I wasn't bothered that he chose to be coach at Man United instead of here. Bobby had his own people anyway
I just don't see any reason to mad at him for anything really. At the end of the day, Moyes was picking him and starting him above other players
Neville trained hard, showed up on time, watched his diet, kept his head down and saw out the end of his career. You can say you didn't like his playing style, but I can't see why anyone would HATE him. It's not like he bailed on us, cheated to beat us in a cup Quarter Final and then rubbed it in our faces is it?
Ah, but I forget, Arteta was good at football so he's allowed to be as big a knob as he wants and we all still have to like and respect him, where as Phil Neville was just a consumate pro, so he's deserving of our hatred
Admit his step overs gave your pecker a tingling sensation
Any event, I don't hate him, I've never met him. I hate that he was an Everton captain though.
Him saying Everton should be grateful for a top 10 finish is equally petty and stupid of him though mate.
Pretty much the same reason I can't bring myself to hate Fritzl
I think he said it was achievement mate, not that we should be grateful
Everyone uses that as the stick to beat him with, and ignore the actual hard work and dilligence he put in during his Everton career
Because Phil Neville is the reason we never won the league. Just him like. No one else
You get the jist of the quote though, it's not an achievement really. Sums up Moyes's tenure too.
He might have worked hard, in fact I bloody hope he did, but my expectations are a little higher than his.
At least Fritzl had a couple of end products unlike Neville.
Too far?
How wonderfully pious of you
Wow Mikey, you know we're allowed to disagree on a forum right?
Disagree, if Moyes had got that Spurs job a couple of years back he would have run off quicker than he could pull a stepover.
Neville would want to leave just as much as Arteta, the difference is other clubs actually wanted Arteta, because he could play football.
I don't particularly like how Arteta left either by the way.
