I think we will stay up..

If we had a Southall, Watson or Reid - and a man with the consistency of Sharpy... even just two of them, I'd probably agree.

Instead of Reid and Sharp we have...

Get it in your skull mate. We are going down. There is not one player on that pitch losing sleep over the long-term future of EFC.

To be fair I just cant bear to see us going down
I just hope the players eventually think the same
Sorry to be blunt but is a very realistic prospect so do yourself a favour and start mentally preparing yourself for it.

Time for positive thoughts.
Lots of games to go
We are Everton
The players will fight for their and our lives
We are too good to go down
All those points you make underline the complacency that has put us in this perilous position in the first place.

We are in big trouble I'm afraid. I am starting to resign myself to it now as i just cannot see any way out of it. We have a group of players who need non stop molly coddling and ego inflation and who think they are too good to go down and so most of the time only put a half assed effort in. They won't realise that they are not too good to go down until it is too late and they have been relegated and then they will say man how did that happen. Probably blame the fans for it like others do.

Never hated an Everton team as much as i do these. Don't feel a connection to any of them whatsoever and all are complicit in this absolutely disgraceful season, no exceptions.

We're hot favourites right now to take the drop. I said that after the game. And it's true.

However, this is football and these matters have a habit of not staying the same. Look at Watford a few weeks ago: dead and buried, now in with a chance.

More than likely we'll get clear and survive. That's some admission though after spending half a billion on players.
Flip side too we'd all be better just accepting that there's probably a 1 in 3 chance we could face the drop this season. So a very real chance.

It'll make the weekends easier and maybe allow us to enjoy what time we've left in the Premier League if relegation ends up being the case. The fear is ruining peoples weeks and making the situation worse.

I look at the bulk of the Watford, Norwich, Burnley and Leeds fans etc online and they're all very much "we can stay up here if..." etc etc no ones cry arsing online saying, "we're going down" etc or worrying about their fixtures. Newcastle another good example of that. They just get behind their teams, have belief and no fear if it doesn't work out. I don't reckon any of those teams are better than ours like.

Since October our lot have been telling everyone we're going down and it's now the bulk saying it, understandably so now, but since October? Cmon! The relegation thread in here started Oct 24th!

It's a fear based reaction and it needs to stop. We just need to be adults about it, grow a set and accept that we could go down. If we do we do there's 'F' all we can do about it except get behind the team.

But there probably as much chance that we could stay up. The defeastist fear based mindset is mental. So what if we go down? It's terrible but we'll deal with it. Do we only support Everton if in the Prem? We don't cease to exist if out of the Prem for a season or two. If it happens we just have to accept the reality of the situation. It's like grief. Anger, denial and all that...

What happened after the match today with the booing and chanting at the players, "you're not fit to wear the shirt" isn't going to help one iota either. Just don't go the game if that's how ya feel. These lads don't support the club like us and if we go down they go to another Premier League club so abusing them will probably just make them give up even more, if that's even possible.

I agree with you though, a few weeks and a small run of form changes everything. 5 wins and we most likely stay up or 4 wins and a few draws. Either or. Seems impossible now but it seemed impossible for Newcastle and Watford too.

Edit: Also, even if we manage to stay up, next season isn't going to be any easier imo. Easier just to accept where we are at right now and lose the fear.
