He's been very poor majority of games, the amount of times he gives the ball away that leads to chances is not good and is hurting us. Not the same player that left, to be expected, although you'd think training with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, he'd improve a bit with his passing.

or in a 433 where he's just allowed to press

first half he was the only one who actually was in midfield - that's totally on Lampard and the completely dreadful Davies and Iwobi.

Gana second half, for the 20 mins that he was on, was as awful as any of the others.
Yeah, I don't want it to seem like I think he's a bad player. We know what he's good at and what he's not good at (or at least some of us do), let him do what he's good at and don't expose his flaws. Onana is much more likely to make an effective number 6, but I think with both of them in a 3 man midfield, you're not getting much in the way of progressive passing and that is a problem unless you account for that in how you play

Gana is still a good player and take him out the team and you will see. Same with Onana missing against Brighton was a massive miss. Can't drop any of them when you see the state of the so called replacements. I agree that the passing of both is slightly off but you only have to look at the breaking up of play. Without them we would be battered each game more so than now

I honestly believe he’s not being utilised properly, same with Onana.

I’m not saying he’s the player we sold, because it’s quite obvious that he isn’t. However he’s still good at winning the ball back, which is what he should be doing. Yet the midfield is that fluid that each of them are all over the place. Lampard should play Gana and Onana as holding players with Onana given more freedom to go forward, then play Iwobi (or whoever else now he’s injured) further forward to try and create and join the attacks.

Instead of this we have them all trying to do all 3 roles, and it doesn’t work.

Down to Lampard.
