He‘s still good at what he’s best at. Gets about, pinches the ball. In this garbage Lampard system, he’s in a 2. Should be giving the ball to a ball playing midfielder.

If Lampard goes, hopefully tonight (should have been months ago), I’d expect to see sudden improvement from a few of these players.

Depends where a decent manager would play him as apparently he can cover most midfield positions. Where did Lampard employ him?

I think he was used as the creative player in there and I didn't see him creating much. Neat and tidy but as I said, that's not what we need.

Need to give Garner a run of games in Gana's place as soon as we can. It's a shame, really. Seems like he can still make a tackle at least on occasion, but his passing is just not acceptable for that position at this level.

Was happy to see him come back to Everton, but it's really not working out. It's not that he's terrible (certainly not when compared to the rest of them) but with his size and his age, I think he's leaving a big hole in midfield, which is causing us so many problems.

I’ve been one of his biggest supporters and I think he has been very disappointing. He needs a rest, hopefully Garner can start a few.

I actually think Gana and Onana in front of Mina, Tarks, Coady, Pickford in goal and DCL upfront is a decent spine. The problem is the two wing back positions and the two inside forward positions.

See who we get in rest of the window, Danjuma and one more forward player and a left and right wingback who can support and think Gana and Onana sitting and winning ball would be fine.

The experiment to bring him back has failed miserably I would say. He was always bad on the ball but he’s no where near the player he was when he left. You can’t put too much blame on him directly, he’s not our biggest problem but it’s very clear to see that he’s too used to playing alongside much better players.

If he’s in the background doing his job he’s fantastic, if he’s one of your 3 or 4 best players then there’s an issue.
