In the premier league? From clubs that ain't in the sky6- I'd take Milivejovic, Doucoure and Ndidi. From the sky6 I'd be trying to beat down the door to hammer on Vicki Wanyama. Around Europe, the obvious one people wanted was an N'Zonzi type.
The pass competition stats for Gana, really don't reflect how poor he is with ball in hand.

Agree with N’Zonzi, but I’d like him in next to Gueye. Wanyama is a good player but he’s getting on, the other 3 you mentioned aren’t as good as Gueye.
People are expecting more from him as the player next to him isn’t doing their job.

Not at all, they are expecting more from him because he doesn't do enough. Have you ever wondered if the person next to him not doing enough is because they can't play their normal game knowing he's liable to go bolting off out of position chasing a ball or a player he shouldn't and leaving massive holes in the middle? Or that because he takes so long on the ball every single time there is no option but a sideways pass?
Of course not, because it's never Gana's fault.
If he was half as good as some people say he was, he would make his midfield partner look infinitely better, not worse.
A prime Zinedine Zidane wouldn’t make the crabs who play next to him look good. We are a much weaker team without Gueye in the starting 11.

They would though, that's the thing. Good players elevate teams and those around them. That's why teams sell certain players and plummet, or those players get injured and the team suffers. The last extended run out of the side Ghana had was the AFCON in his 1st season and the team improved, with Schneiderlin and Davies.
Schneiderlin and Davies have moved backwards considerably since then, to the point where it effects the whole team when they are in there due to how poor they are.
