Further to my posts last night, I’ll clarify that I think Gana is a very good player. I’d like to keep him.

What I’m saying is, with clever recruitment, him leaving isn’t an apocalyptic disaster in the same way that a Moyes’ Everton side would be decimated by the loss of a midfield player.

You act as though if he wasn’t here we wouldn’t be conceding goals a lot more often with Sigurdsson and Gomes as two of our midfield three. ...I wouldn’t be surprised if Gueye was given guarantees in January that he’d be allowed to leave in the summer if PSG still wanted him. I have no issues with this, the player continued to be very effective this season.

I’m forever criticising Steve Walsh, but he did good business on this one.
