It's only a 6 day tradition cos the Internet Virgins log to every single site expecting news every day.

What if we haven't even had any interest from anywhere?
Oh and there's cleverly and Davies too. Do we need 6 backup for 2 midfield slot?
True, thats one difference, but another is Kante was on a team surrounded by really good players and coaches, while Gueye was on a team surrounded with really terrible players and coaches. If you've ever played on both, you know the massive difference it makes.
Aye, but I'd expect a top player to elevate his team a bit more than Gueye did last season, like Mascherano did for West Ham.
Mascherano barely played for West Ham...
Of course not, hence I can honestly see us moving some of them on.
Its unlikely to be Gibson, but not impossible.
Besic is unlikely to fetch much and isnt on mega money
McCarthy is likely to attract a very decent fee and is on decent money
Barry is on very decent money and isnt mobile enough for how Koeman likes to play IMO
Davies needs a loan somewhere
The Clev will be on decent money and will likely attract a decent fee
Personally can see us signing 2-3 new CMs and 2 of the above will be moved on, either Barry, The Clev or McCarthy I would say.
Think Davies may be loaned, McCarthy sold, cleveley sold, and wouldn't be shocked to see Barry loaned as well mate.
I guess if Carvalho, Gueye, Witsel are signed. Barry leaves to find first team football. McCarthy to Hull if Martinez takes over.
Besic, Cleverley and Gibson stay on as backup.
Not arsed about McCarthy IF we can get better players in but yeah, I'd have him over Cleverley the invisible man any day.I still think McCarthy has a role to play.
His game is hunting for the ball and Koeman likes to press hard.
So I'd swap Clev with McCarthy in your list and I'd be happy with that
As a villa fan I say you dodged a bullet by not buying Witsel who is slow and cumbersome while buying a real hidden diamond for peanuts in Gana. If you go by stats he is actually better than Kante as he has better success rates. He does need to work on some of his ball retention but his teammates were no help leaving him isolated. In France he was actually higher rated than Kante. Put him in a team with solid tactics and he may be your star player.
