People dismissing the idea of having Arteta as manager are missing a most important point, in that we have a ready made song ready to dust down. A good song is vital.

For me the issue with Howe is that Bournemouth are just enjoying the ride, so the expectation and pressure is totally, totally different. They're quite happy to trade an occasional 4-0 win at home to Chelsea for a more common 5-0 loss to Spurs, 4-1 to United, 4-0 to Burnley etc. They enjoy the good days and write off the bad as part of the experience. That just won't be tolerated here, he'd be under enormous pressure for losing 7 consecutive away games like they have. We'd be saying it showed that he simply wasn't capable of stopping the rot and was proof that he's tactically inept. I just don't think he seems like the type of bloke who could manage a bigger club with more expectation.
Rated on cone laying ?Our model these days is far more towards head coach, rather than a traditional manager... and Arteta is one of the highest rated young coaches in the country.
Not sure he'd be my first choice, but I'd take him ahead of many of the options mentioned in this thread
Mate I don't care if you think it is "rediculous" its my opinion on it! I can't help that. I don't accept abject failure even over one game. People pay their hard earned money to go an watch it. It is gross negligence to me. It was also years ago so it doesn't matter!
Oh and he did have money that season. He bought James Beattie to play up front on his own, meanwhile dropping Bent who was making the system work in the first place.
So your saying we should have sacked Moyes then kept bent? Finishing 4th and he tried to strengthen and I’m assuming was trying to get into the CL. You really want bent to try and fire us there? He was actually the one that caused the foul for Dunc’s disallowed goal.
I think also he seems to have taken a long time to get them to where they are. Thats probably fine for a club the size of Bournemouth but i doubt our fans would wait that length of time. Agree with you on the 'enjoying the ride' thing, i live on the south coast and would say speaking to fans of theirs, they are just happy to plod along and not really do anything. For me the issue with Howe is that Bournemouth are just enjoying the ride, so the expectation and pressure is totally, totally different. Beattie playing in a lone role up front was one of the worst fits of a position I have ever seen in football. He worked in a 2 because he was lazy and slow but he could hit a ball. It was utter madness to sign him and expect him to play that role. Ideally you go for a better version of Bent not a completely different player.
Hold on, I thought the whole narrative was that there was no foul on Fergusons goal and Collina just screwed us (The only reason we didn't get to the proper CL tournament of course...)
What makes people think Arteta would do any better than Unsworth or an Henry at Monaco? Has he even managed a youth team before?
Problem is we cant attract a top manager and going for these mid tabe bog standard at best managers is keeping us outside the top 6, so we have to try something different. What makes people think Arteta would do any better than Unsworth or an Henry at Monaco? Has he even managed a youth team before?

Look at Silva, he wont change because he thinks he knows what he is doing, but least with someone fresh into the job they are going to be more willing to change things, but SIlva seems too arrogant so proberbly thinks he knows what he is doing and its everyone else that is wrong.
Also Arteta wont want a massive contract and the fans will be patient and get behind him.
