If The Worst Comes To The Worst

It would be a bit rubbish for me as I live quite far from the stadium, and whilst I try to get there a couple times a season it’s increasingly becoming too far a stretch to make it. The loss of televised games will be sore for me.
Think you might do alright on that front if you have Sky. They show a lot of Championship games. As a famous club I'd guess we'd get lots of coverage.

The thing that makes football different from the likes of the American sports and Australian sports is promotion/relegation. If you’re not at the standard you drop. This is the game we are in and we’re not good enough. If we get relegated we deserve it

For a start finance coming in starts to drop dramatically from what we've got at the moment and the debt will not be allowed in the championship as their rules on debt are far more onerous than the prem. Plus there will be an exodus of players for fees way under market value. Moshiri has imho no interest in financing the purchase of players anymore because all the cash provided in the last 7 years has not been his imho of course.

We have practically given away all our players for the past umpteen years anyhow so what's new. The ones worth something, Pickford (mainly) and Gordon and possibly DCL will be sold, Mina is out of contract in the summer. There will be the ones that want to move will move for their own sakes - possibly Iwobi, Maupay perhaps, Coleman might retire. Coady probably doesn't join. The rest aren't on stupid money.

If this was the time when we had Mina, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Digne, James, Allan all on 100k + then we would be screwed but basically we've prepped for this by reducing costs. With the rest of the high earners off and whatever we get for them added to the parachute payments and Kean's sale we should be okay.

We'll need to buy in championship players for championship money but that didn't hurt Brighton it seems. It will also open up a pathway from the youth teams which dried up when we tried to buy expensive, known players.

We don't know what Moshiri's view on buying players is as basically our spending issues came from trying to keep to the PL's profit and loss rules. Another low spending year, to add to last year's one and we may then get headroom but like Newcastle we would be better not spending much so the new owners get the ability to budget and spend from a stronger position. This will make us more attractive and hopefully get the kind of people in we want instead of asset strippers.
