If The Worst Comes To The Worst

Don't ever get into the mindset that its good for any reason to go down because it isn't. I'm a villa fan and can tell you first hand. it's [Poor language removed]. HOWEVER, what was good was that you get to be the Billy big Bollocks wherever you go, you get to go to games expecting to win and usually do (at least you don't lose them), and you get the pick of any decent players in the Championship because you can outbid anybody. However, the lustre soon wears off if you don't go up within the first 3 years because then you could get trapped down there for a long time.

The problem for sides that are used to being in the top flight and then go down, is that you go down with an average team that needs to be rebuilt. We had Jack Grealish and it still took 3 years. Those types of teams can take time to re-find their feet and momentum unlike sides that have been around the top of the Championship fighting for promotion for a few seasons on end.

its fun at first then stops being fun unless you go up.

Presume you are having loads of fun in the PL where you are one of 80 percent of clubs who have no chance of winning a trophy?

People talking like the PL is lots of fun. It's garbage.

No, and that's the rub of it all. its no fun hoping to just be better than midtable and scratch into Europe, but I'd rather that than watching us lose 3-0 at home v Preston, and then hoping to get a draw at Luton in time for our big match v Rotherham.

I can hardly be bothered with them in the Premier League. No chance I'll be doing anything other than looking out for results when we're in The Championship.

Everton have drained my love for them over the years, it's an abusive relationship and I decided years ago that it's not worth getting too bothered about. No one is forcing me to endure this misery and mediocrity. If Everton give me something to get excited about then I'll embrace it, otherwise life is too short to worry about a football club's fortunes.

I disagree. In the few seasons where we were actually competing towards the top end of the league with Moyes (and Martinez's first season), it was super exciting because it felt like we were growing back in to a proper, competitive football club again that, whilst nowhere near challenging for the league at that time, we could've been a really strong cup and Europa League contender.

That allure of levelling up doesn't exist in The Championship. Even if you're the run away winner of that league, you're still in the second tier and will be light years behind even the likes of Newcastle and Spurs.

I yearn for the day of no VAR , no big six media hysteria, no corruption, no agendas, no hope.

Ideally it would be in the top division but frankly it feels like it's going to be in the lower echelons.

Football in the PL is dead and your post alludes to it.

I'm sorry but you've admitted above you can't be bothered with them if we go down so I don't really respect your opinion sorry mate.

the club you tool
Oh my .... insults! Before you throw insults at me, though, learn to communicate better using subjects in your sentences to avoid any confusion to the reader. Or if you can't be bothered to do that, don't insult the reader.

Then we'll all get along more nicely. X

If relegation does happen, i've decided i'm going to crack on and make the best of it. The Championship is a good proper old fashioned league, we'll be playing some good old fashioned proper clubs as well.

Obviously i hope we stay up, but there's enough problems for me to worry about without stressing about whether Everton go down or not. If it happens it happens. As a club we've been circling the drain since 1987. So this was always on the cards.

Relegation might finally rid of us of Kenwright and Moshiri, and who knows we might come back up within a season or two. We could be down in the lower leagues for twenty years and beyond as well, but Everton will continue to be here that's the main thing.

I think as long as Everton are winning and playing good football, we'll still get some enjoyment out of it irrespective of what division we find ourselves in.
Good post.

I'm torn on how I will be if it does happen.

If we come back up within 2 seasons I think it may even be positive. But down for longer than that and think we are in a terrible mess, far worse than feared.

it’s not an insult lad ffs it’s making my point to your point

Our clubs been in a coma for nearly thirty years.
Does it really matter which league we win nothing in?
I’ll carry on going whichever league we play.
( except if we appoint Dyche or Moyes)
