It might be true if he was a player coveted by mid table Premiership teams but we know that is not the case. He will be a target for CL clubs all over Europe. 50M would still be a poor price.

Our desperation isn't really a factor whey it comes to Richarlison - regardless of the selling club's position a player is worth what someone is willing to pay. At 25 million there would be a queue out the door for a player of his age and profile, from teams in all the big leagues, and that competition will drive the price up. He was talked about in the 70-80 bracket for PSG if Mbappe had gone last summer, and while we might not get close to that this summer we'd still get way more than 25.

There's not really a precedent of clubs going down and losing their star players at bargain basement prices. They might not get the maximum fee possible but I don't think any teams have been totally shafted on players.

I've a feeling a lot of them do as it's easy street. Literally money for nothing. Fortunately many of them are out of contract in the summer. Imagine being hobbled by the likes of Tosun if relegated.
