If you're a blue of a certain age and need cheering up

This has probably been posted (??), but it's the full game of us v spurs in the 95 semi. One of our best performances in my life time! I hadnt spotted it before on youtube but if you have a an hour or 2, kick back, get a Belgian beer, enjoy and relive the moment. I didnt go, but managed to kick a cup through a patio window whilst celebrating Matt Jacksons opener. My mum wasnt happy!

I caught the back end of us winning leagues and cups in the Eighties which I am so fortunate to have done, but this was one of the top performances that came around after a pretty turgid spell - against a team that were being touted by all media as the nailed on winners.

Things to note:
The style of football on show was by far, more entertaining /fun than the tippy tap stuff we see today - I think
We knew how to take a corner - c/o Andy Hinchcliffe
Joe Parkinson was boss
Anders Limpar was a talent
David Unsworth at that time had pace
We worked our b*ll*x off
John Motson was a decent commenator
Clattering challenges were allowed
Semi Finals shouldnt be held at Wembley
Our fans can destroy any opposing fans - COYB

Loved that game. What a feeling!

Just watched the whole thing. I love our style of footie. Skillfull, organised and aggressive. I hope we get to see something similar again. 🤞

In the spirit of spoiling what was otherwise a lovely post, a pedant writes;
The KO was either Noon, 1.00pm or somewhere in between as the Palace v ManUre SF at Villa Park was the 4.00pm ish game. We knew Everton had won easily at our KO.
My boss at the time was Spurs and he went. Said it felt like an away game because of the seating arrangements.🤣
Yeah your right mate. Was defo an early kick off.

Mad watching a game of football with no one falling over just cos they’re touched (Klinnsman aside). No faking being assassinated.

See tackle on Jackson 38 mins. If that was today whoever is tackled would be rolling around for ages and prob red card.

Shame we’ll never get this version of the game back again.

Also, how good were we. I just remember thinking ‘we’re gonna regret this’ in 1st half, and dreading all second til the 3rd went in!
It was amazing to see Klinsmann in the PL, really the first renowned foreign star to come over. His diving was desperate though (even took the piss out of himself with the first goal celebration (I believe at Sheff Wed) with his teammates joining in). Remember his acrobatics in the '90 World Cup final.

That semi was men against boys. Spurs had too many show ponies in their side and not enough grit. Ardiles had assembled Dumitrescu, Anderton, Barmby, Sheringham and Klinsmann, and remember at the time commentators said they looked unbalanced.

Then of course the final which was an epic, joyous day.
