In all seriousness, this derby record: WTF are we going to do about it?

Need Keane types...simple as that. Holgate's been showing signs for a while.
Yes, we have good competitive kids coming through. But it's only a matter of time they acquire the loser stink of their elders and less than betters who have surrendered time and time again.

I cant see that change.

I'm hoping sams methods will bring some mental changes to the squad. whether that alone is enough is yet to be seen.

the farce of barkley going and us announcing Tosun during half time yesterday, is yet more proof of how inept everything is at Everton.

I agree the record in derbies is shocking but I did feel they showed more bottle yesterday and did not look afraid of them but the bottom line is you can't go into a season with no recognised strikers.
Who's fault that was I don't know was it Keoman, was it Walsh or was it Moshiri? the only thing you can be certain of it certainly isn't Allerdyce fault let's get behind him and see what he can do what other choice have we got?
Allardyce has got them fighting in the derby, yes. But that isn't unique in the last 7 seasons. It's just not enough. The whole organisation going into derbies needs to be on a war footing for it. Everything needs throwing at it and all our focus needs to be on it regardless of all else.

Do we have psychologists working with our lot?

If we had it'd have been against the grain of that match where we were second best and hoping against hope to hang on.

If we'd have forced the replay I reckon Klopp would have seen it as practically gone. He has other matters to attend to in the PL and CL.
You must have been watching a different game. We were great last night, last ten minutes I thought once we had Lookman in there was only one team likely to win it. And it wasn’t Liverpool. And that is a remarkable state of affairs given the way things stood just a month ago.
All this wailing about everything is just weird. Liverpool have had one of the finest coaches in the world bedded in for nearly three years, a front six not bettered anywhere in Europe, and you seem to expect the team that got battered twenty nil by Atalanta a month ago ought to turn up and tear them a new one:Talk about unrealistic expectations

It takes a club hierarchy to transmit that: dont let that lot get away, for instance, with presenting themselves as city representatives as they do a lot of the time. Yes, a stadium at BMD would be welcome in that respect, but every claim they make as being premier club here in the city needs an answer to it.

...absolutely, but ultimately the only way of changing it is being better on and off the pitch. All of the peripheral things (Sky and BBC favouring them, ex-Reds as a TV pundits etc) won’t matter if we are superior. We managed it briefly in the mid-80s but it’s a massive task for any regime.

We need to be better than them. Sounds easy but it’s the key objective.

It's a weird one mate. As you'll well remember, we got some pastings in the early 80's, but by 83, we had the measure of them..and with many of the same players. Something changed, some snarlers appeared, and players began to hit peak form, and briefly, it looked like we'd never lose again.

A pertinent point. The club just doesnt prioritise the derby and that transfer underlines it. We should have had that stamped on January 1st and he should have been on the pitch.

big sam believes in this bigtime.

I wholly agree it’s utterly embarrassing, I could get my head around it if they were playing or had a squad like City, but in that time they have been largely awful even last night I was thinking the game was there for us.

Simply weak mentality and not enough quality, draws can not be tolerated or playing it safe, tho for the throat every time, I was feel we are settling for a draw in the derby, I don’t think we’re afraid of Liverpool but think we are afraid of looseing the derby.

Unrealistic expectations? No mate. Is it being unrealistic over the last 16 games to win one?

Not so sure about that, you either have that in you at a young age or you don't (like Rooney)...I think it can be coached in to you but I'm not so sure about losing it.

I know if I was Mason's pops, I'd be dead proud of him as he's not letting himself get pushed around. The good thing about players like this is that type of mindset applies to ALL games, not just a derby.

Yep.

But we (the whole organisation) settles in advance for a creditable draw.

FFS, as you say, they are nothing like unbeatable.

Look at the stats on shots at goal/on target. We weren't creative enough. You dont win derbies by just battling.

We need more players like Holgate, players who don't give a [Poor language removed] who they are tackling and don't go overboard over respecting their players.
We need a proper striker who can score goals, a proper left back, not a right back playing there. We need a top centre half next to Holgate, a match fit Bolasie and most of all the will to win and belief to carry it out.
