Stakes high for Ipswich and Everton

Eight games in and it’s already relegation six-pointer time. Ipswich in 17th are one of the Premier League’s four winless wonders. In beating Crystal Palace on 28 September Everton, 16th, exited that select club, and next held Newcastle to a draw thanks to Jordan Pickford saving a penalty from Anthony Gordon. Evertonians will hope for more of the same, rather than the chaotic performance Pickford delivered against Greece for England last week. Ipswich will seek to bounce back from their first poor performance of the season at West Ham, who drove a bus through Kieran McKenna’s adventurous tactics in winning 4-1, particularly during a ruinous second half full of poor defending. Axel Tuanzebe’s continued absence after cutting his hand in the depths of a washing-up bowl is a significant blow to Ipswich’s defence. Similarly, Everton have missed Jarrad Branthwaite, whose comeback in that Palace game visibly improved the team before he then tweaked a thigh muscle. He is back in training. John Brewin

bbc got us to lose

O'Shea is fine and starting

Only area where I think you guys are below prem standard is CM. Morsy was a foul machine v Villa and should've been sent off. Kalvin Phillips still getting his fitness back up after two years of inactivity and Luongo more of a sub at this level.

Got some really interesting players elsewhere. Delap started off great and plenty of pace and potential in the three behind him. Also rate Leif Davis at LB who's overlapping runs will need to be watched.

I think you've got a decent chance of staying up regardless of what happens tomorrow. Think 2-2 is a likely scoreline.

I’m Ipswich born and bred so know quote a bit about these players. Davis is worshipped by the Ipswich fans but I can honestly tell you he’s utter turd. There’s more to the game in his position than getting forward, and putting in a good delivery. You actually have to be able to defend and he simply can’t. He has zero positional awareness, gets stuck high up the pitch when they lose the ball and shows no urgency to get back and defend, and when he does occasionally get in to a defensive position, he’s powderpuff. Can’t tackle to save his life.

Having said that, he’ll be up against Harrison so will probably have one of his easier afternoons! This is the perfect game for Lindstrom IMO. He’d cause Davis all sorts of problems down that side. We need to target him at every opportunity, move everything down our right hand side and we’ll get some joy 100%.
