Is Sam that bad?

Yes, he is.

For the simple reason that as much as people malign our roster, we have a quality of players that teams below 8th just cannot match. They dont have the likes of Walcott, Siggurdson, Rooney, Gueye, Coleman, Pickford, and of course Prince Niasse. Hes had success despite himself, because of the quality of player. Its not even so much that we have lost games like the Arsenal game, its how we lost them, and that was because of absolutely stupid tactics. He set the team up to fail and Im not sure anyone would disagree with that, it was bizarre.

The simple matter is hes shown by that he cant take us any better than 7th, and thats just not good enough. NSNO. Any number of other mediocre managers could do what hes done, but there are a lot that will be available that can kick us on. Hes simply not good enough, and thankfully he already demonstrated that to Moshiri.

Yes, yes he is. Because he is very negative and won't set up in a manner to attack any team away from home. He's good at one thing scraping to forty but he doesn't have ambition beyond that and his mindset and tactics have a negative influence in the long term. If you want 10th every year he is your man. For me get to 40 and move him on.

Pretty much this. The fact that for the first time Sam has a squad valued in the hundreds of millions and yet he still sets his teams up away from home with five at the back and two defensive midfielders tells you all you need to know. He is comfortable in mid-table and then taking all the plaudits for being some kind of genius for lifting a side from 18th to 10th.

Hear me out

8 games played against sides outside the top 6, Won 5, 2 draws and 1 loss

So basically we have picked up 17 points out of 24 out of games we would expect to win, whichever way you spin that it's a very good return

Now obviously we've been shocking against the top 6 sides but this is nothing new and goes back years

Does he deserve a second season?

Yep

come on mate, it might have cost 100s of millions but the quality doesn't match the outlay

I think Walcott coming here was largely down to him as well, he's well respected amongst the players

Probably isn't that bad but do I want him to have a summer of transfers, probably not. If we finished 7th then I may change my mind and he would deserve it but he hardly inspires you.

I do think the quality is there mate. How the team is put together, and the tactics, is what is wrong.

I agree though that it seems he's well-respected generally by the players.

It's not that he is that bad. He just isn't good enough for Everton. The guy epitomizes inertia and mediocrity. For our lack of silverware since 1995, Evertonians still demand a certain level, and blubber arse falls below that.

We are a mid table side mate who haven't achieved anything for over 2 decades, I do wonder who blues think we should get thats better than Sam
