If people think this is the worse we've been, you are lucky blighters I tell you! Although I think the standard of the lesser teams is better than its been for a while which scares me

This is undoubtedly the worst, most unbalanced squad in Everton history. Or at least recent Everton history. Koeman has really let us down in terms of his dealings in the transfer market.

However, we're not quite at the Wimbledon stage just yet.

It's certainly a relegation dogfight, though. No question.

The problem is there are loads of positives which wwe will totally waste and lose talent if we don’t turn it around
Lookman - great flashes of skill and strength
Same with Vlasic
DCL Davies Bani all will be great with some coaching
Kenny Keane good solid pros
Pickford excellent

So much potential !!

This is an important point...I also feel there is less gutter-quality in the Prem than in previous years. We have to be very careful, what Allardyce said about the priority being clean sheets and nicking a 1-0 is actually sound advice, it's the most feasible way out of this mess.

Calling on long memories here...

For me, following since '89, I'd have to say yes. Everything about this season, as short as it is, has just been overwhelmingly terrible. The hype has inflated its utter crapness in comparison to previous terrible periods where it was half-expected.

No, not even close.

I don't think this is the worst we have ever been but I think it's the biggest drop in form we have ever experienced over a short time, especially when you consider the money spent in the closed season and the promise that brought with it.

We've gone from 7th place, and 15 points clear of the team below us, to the relegation zone.

That's the worst drop in form I can remember.

As a small child i vaguely remember the late 70's i do remember the cushion throwing

The 80's we were mediocre until Howard built that amazing team

The 90's the club was a mess but the team had some battlers but bleak times

The Moyes era the club was in a semi-mess but again there was battlers in them teams
the players bought were researched and bought for specific positions money was tight homework was done properly

2017 The club got money and spent it on average players that the big boys didn't want
the make up of this team is fragile along with a bunch of kids, older players and players with a attitude of i don't feckin care I'm here for the cheque
that is worrying but i'm sure the mess can be fixed

After we buy a striker in January.......

My biggest concern is January isn't a good time to buy players, especially the kind of strikers we would hope to get.

It's most likely we'll sign someone as a panic buy or someone with high potential from an unproven league unless we're going to have loads of money to spend which I haven't seen any evidence of so far.

It may be too late to start panicking then, especially if we haven't got the money to strengthen other areas like defence.

Our team as it stands is relegation material. The way we're playing could see us in freefall by January.

Agreed and I think that is what Unsworth has been trying to do. Keep a clean sheet for as long as possible and nick it at the end. Problem is we lose stupid goals through completely dire defending. I remember we looked so bad against Liverpool when they thrashed us one year at the pit, yet we are making every team we play look like that Liverpool team - like they can put 3 or 4 goals past us without much opposition.

We've been worse unbelievably. I think we went into November under Walker with 4 points, hence the joke "what's the difference between Everton and the star of David? The star of David has 5 points."
...and a square and possibly even a triangle if I recall.
