At least in the 90s we were limited but had heart and leadership. The senior players today are largely cowards and mercenaries not a fight between them. The younger players show them up. Very worried

I outright refuse to believe we are that bad.

Koeman was just a delinquent, stubborn nutter who didn’t give an inch about this club.

And I like Unsy, but he sure as hell isn’t the man for the job. Sure, he will blood a young star or two, but the game against Lyon with the largest squad we’ve ever had he put Sigurdsson up front, and 3 defensive midfielders. Sure, he plays two wingers, the rest is questionable. Williams an armband?

Just play an evident style of football, we have an incredible plethora of players who actually give us something.

We should consider things like Schneiderlin at centre back (Williams is finished), And who knows what Jags has got left in it. Players of Schneiderlin’s stature, should be versatile enough. We have 95 of the same player, so try to re-invent him. Consider using players like Lennon at right back, RWB. He can defend and gives us speed, you get 100% out of him.

We get Coleman and Bolasie back soon.

Honestly I don’t believe we are a relegation fodder. And refuse to believe it with the list we’ve got. We need to move on from Rooney, Sigurdsson and Klaassen can play in the same team with 2 genuine wingers/ flanks.

COME ON EVERTON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

Ive spent the last few months laughing off the circling RS prik colleagues that Everton have been in much worse situations than this...i then follow it up with posing them questions about their own quandary...the word quandary usually gets them...they generally leave at that point...im not happy but im not worried either we just need to get a small bit of momentum and we should be fine..my pre season prediction was 11th or 12th...i'll happily take that now please...Ancelotti 2018..Rhino to keep us afloat in the meantime..COYB!

What quandary is that? They're 6th in the table, generally scoring goals and are progressing in the Champs League.

For the record, I think there is talent in this squad. The biggest problem is there is no chemistry because:

1. A huge chunk of the squad came here between now and last summer
2. The players have been moved all over the place to accommodate new signings and such. Poor Unsworth is trying his darndest, but he doesn't seem to be cut out for the job. It doesn't help that the players have already given up on the season either.

...i’ve been chatting with @bluestevon and we both made the same point about a regular basis in the team. All teams (good and bad) have 5 or 6 automatic choices on the team sheet each week. They form the basis and backbone of the team.

Everton on the other hand probably only have Pickford (and perhaps Baines largely because there is no competition for his place) as an automatic selection. I’ve never known a situation like that before.

It truly is the definition of moving the deckchairs on the Titanic.

Don't know how you could compare it to the bleak periods pre Moyes. We're only a quarter of the way through the season and have a squad made up of a lot of decent players who are underperforming.

It's a bad start to the season but the bed wetting is unbelievable.

I have been thinking a similar thing - under Moyes I always felt confident because the spine of the team was really solid. jagielka, baines, Coleman, cahill, arteta, pienaar - we always had a good number of players that you had confidence in and were automatic picks. They were all players that some of the teams above us would love to have in their squads which is a good sign.

Right now we don't have that but I don't think the fundamentals of the squad are that bad, the team is just going through a crisis of confidence that seems to be affecting every player.

We've now got the record of the worst EVER performance in the Europa League by an English team. That includes the likes of: Wigan, Swansea and Southampton.

They have a little over half the points of the leaders, are closer to the relegation zone than City, have a weak squad that is already being exposed by a few injuries, still might not progress in the Champions League and are hundreds of millions of pounds in debt.

We've never been more relevant to the mutants, they need our struggles to make them feel better. One league Cup in 12 years despite spending billions.

But yeah, they scored a few against Maribor.

Yeah i think that's the biggest issue. If Koeman had just picked a starting xi and formation and stuck with that then i think we'd be in a better position.

and as I said to you earlier mate, a common adage in any sport is playing yourself into form, impossible to do when the players around you are never the same and when in fact your in and out of the team yourself.

The flip side of the big squad debate really
