Is Wayne Rooney an Everton Legend

It depends if you are talking about the ability that he showed throughout his Everton career or when playing for United.

In period 1 he showed fantastic potential and in period 2 he was mostly so imobile that he was ineffective.

He fulfilled his potential at United. Although actually I'd argue that if he had shown the dedication of Cristiano he could have been even better.

No , he's nowhere near the best player that I've seen in a blue shirt.

I'm not sure Man Utd fans would have him as a legend. Giggs, Gary Neville, Roy Keane are legends, I don't think they'd put Rooney in that category.

Fans are one thing... stats and facts another... he was, sadly, phenomenal for them

I wouldn't be calling him a club legend in any way. Arguably one of the greatest to come through our ranks, no doubt about it and showed in his short time with us, that he was a special talent, however his best years were spent elsewhere

That’s pretty harsh. He didn’t give himself that contract, he was decent the second time around, and he was the only high earner then who was easy to move off the wage bill.

I dont think its harsh at all. If he was so in love with Everton, he couldve run his massive contract down earlier and returned to actually help the club. Insted he only returned when he wasnt good enough to play PL football anymore and was tossed out of manure - cause he knew he could always suckle some money out of blue Bills sentimental teets.

Its probably obvious, but i dont like him, and i think Evertonians being all proud about his accomplishments makes us feel super small time. He didnt do anything for Everton, but go for an ok sum when we needed the money, and taunt us after scoring against us. Him being discussed as a legend for our club is spitting on great players that gave their all for Everton. Its borderline offensive.

Don’t shoot me but I think Kanchelskis (if that’s how you spell it) was the best player I ever witnessed in an Everton shirt.

Truely world class when he played for us
