Transfer Rumour ISCO

I can't get excited by this one the same way we all got excited about James. He was great 5+ years ago but he's well past his best. He doesn't look half the player he used to be. He's become more & more of a bench player at Madrid the last couple of seasons with little effect when he's brought on.
If we did sign him it would be a massive risk so if he came on loan in Jan with an obligation to buy in the summer there would have to be some kind of get out clause if it all went Pete Tong during the loan.

Haha I wish you could have witnessed the tramere game. The Middlesbrough game. The Wigan game.

You have no idea what some of us have had to endure.

Isco is so far apart. What we are getting now is so far apart.
Is what we thought of Shandy Van Der Meyde when we got him.

Like I said with the James links, I can see something in this. He's the right age for Ancelotti, will initially be quite cheap in terms of fee, can probably do a bit on the wages and Real Madrid will want him gone.

Like with James, he can play in 1st gear and be better than our existing midfielders. It's not to say that is what James does, but even when he is shattered and walks around the pitch, his close control, vision, passing range etc get him through. Isco could easily play the position occupied at times by Gomes, and it would be a big upgrade.

Ironically when Moshiri first arrived I felt Isco was a player we could target. A sort of galtico "marquee" signing that was attainable. At first it wasn't, but with Ancelotti here it is.

The ideal would be Bernard & Bolasie and this guy in.

So 3rd 11:
-------------------Simms------------------
Bolasie-----------------------------Iwobi
-----------------Sigurdsson--------------
------------Davies-------Besic-----------
Gibson--Branthwaite--Penn.-----John
-------------------Virginia------------------

Iwobi and Sigurdsson both started last week, so not sure how they can be considered 3rd team!

From what I have seen of him in this thread, I wouldn’t want us spending money on him. Perhaps a loan with an option to buy for a fixed price so if we can get him back to his best with regular game time, at least we fixed the price when he was at his lowest value

This is really weird. Look at the clips from 2020. In almost every clip he either falls over or looks as though he could at any moment.

It’s weird.

They were up 3 0 and needing to rest players for their match vs Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Isco was caught on tape complaining about his role on the team. Madrid has been trying to shed off salaries to make room for Mbappe and others (Camavinga, Haaland) in the next 2 summers. He will most likely move.

Just don't know what kind of deal we can get for him and again, he is not the player he was before. Carlo would have to work his magic.
There's no magic to be worked here. This guy can seriously ball. Get him fit, get him on the pitch and he obviously fits Carlos system. Basically it's sacrificing Gomes for a monster. Pray this happens mate, just pray.
