Transfer Rumour ISCO

I'd actually stick with a 433

As much as we love Allan and Doucoure, they need help, especially getting the ball forward. 433 with Isco replacing Gomes. He would be their go to guy to bail them out when teams press and beat the press with a pass or by holding the ball with his technique.

4231 with both James and Isco is asking for trouble as neither possesses speed or workrate to come help Allan and Doucoure.

Tbf it was a 433 in my head. Just wanted to include Isco at the point of the midfield.

This is really weird. Look at the clips from 2020. In almost every clip he either falls over or looks as though he could at any moment.

It’s weird.

He gets fouled a LOT thats for sure.

If its the Isco as seen in them clips he's super class and a no brainer if he wants to come here.
Looking at him lately tho the lockdown hasnt been to kind to him. Think the fitness teams would have to whip him into shape very quickly.
Seen one or two quoting loan then buy at £ 18 mil @ 120 k pw. .....well if Carlo can sort sort that , just get it done.

Whilst I agree he is class when in top form I think it was Zidane who gave him his break not Carlo. Carlo favoured James and Di Maria in those positions. He’s probably aware of him though and how good he was as a young player so if Carlo wants him then that’s good.

It would send a clear message as well that once again we are buying yet another midfielder because Sigurdsson is just not good enough even to cover Gomes for one game. It would seemingly be Isco first choice and then Gomes cover if we played the same formation. Hopefully we can punt Sigurdsson in January for a fee and get his wages off the book and maybe even help the cash flow if Isco comes in for less.
The most minutes Isco has ever played at Madrid in a season was under Carlo in the 14/15 season. Di Maria left in 14 and Carlo wasn't all that arsed and spoke of DiMaria's inconsistencies. James and isco for Carlo was never in competition, he used them somewhat differently.

Iwobi and Sigurdsson both started last week, so not sure how they can be considered 3rd team!
Yeah purely on my own picks if everyone was fit and tbh those 2 could be swapped into the second 11 easily. I just prefer both Bernard and Gordon to Iwobi and Gomes when he's on form over Sigurdsson, but on this season's form Sigurdsson would possible be ahead of Gomes. Isco would walk into that 10 role though. Holgate could also be first 11 too, but Keane is having a blinder of a season and we've yet to see Godfrey at CB but he looks like he could be a beast.

It's a dribbling style. Throwing your centre of gravity off centre helps you to turn faster ( as you accelerate towards earth by half-falling over in said direction). He's clearly a quality player, and is not Gazza, Ginola past it.

There will be magic needed. Unlike James, Isco is a player Zidane actually supported and gave plenty of minutes and unconditional support. He always had a role on the team and he still somehow managed to get out of shape and regress as a player. Zidane was to Isco what Carlo is to James.

So if Zidane who adored the player couldn't get him to remain at a level expected for a professional player, why should we just assume that Carlo can?

My only hope is that sometimes a change of venue motivates a player. New team, seeing James' resurgence, and wanting to prove people wrong can get him back to move forward again in his career.

But yes, some magic will need to be worked to rescue him.

What Isco should do now that he is surplus to requirements at Madrid is get in the gym/extra training sessions for the next couple of months before the transfer window opens and get back into shape, that would show commitment for his next club.

I see some of you folks need to be slapped back to reality. Folks, we're not Real Madrid who throw players of this quality around like they're nothing. We play with the likes of Siggy, Gomes, Bernard, Iwobi etc. If that crew was Spanish they wouldn't even have a single cap. This is the same club that deemed Robben, Bale, Cassano, Anelka, Owen, Sneijder and of course our very own James Rodriguez surplus to requirements. Try not to read too much to a players situation while theyre there.

Isco can flat out ball by any metric. He's even more technically gifted than James. Doesn't have the same quality of ball striking though. It's like getting a much better version of pienaar.

The best he's played was for Spain during Lopetegui's time. He was the best Spanish player going. Leading to the world cup he really was something else. Sadly the coach got fired and the team fell apart. He also played really well for Carlo. Him and James had a play making axis that was so good all the forwards had to do was hang around the box and bang em in. If you don't believe in him just watch the 17 CL final. He had June chasing shadows.

These are players I've always dreamt of us having. Let's thank our lucky stars that because of Carlo it's now a possibility.

That is what we have to change.
