Transfer Rumour ISCO

He’s clearly far better than all attacking mid options bar Richarlison and James so if he’s motivated to get fit, come here and play it’s a total no brainer.

The best thing I heard from Carlo during the transfer window was how he only went for players who said yes in the first conversation. We will only be buying Isco if he’s up for the project and if he is it’s a huge improvement and very exciting.

I see some of you folks need to be slapped back to reality. Folks, we're not Real Madrid who throw players of this quality around like they're nothing. We play with the likes of Siggy, Gomes, Bernard, Iwobi etc. If that crew was Spanish they wouldn't even have a single cap. This is the same club that deemed Robben, Bale, Cassano, Anelka, Owen, Sneijder and of course our very own James Rodriguez surplus to requirements. Try not to read too much to a players situation while theyre there.

Isco can flat out ball by any metric. He's even more technically gifted than James. Doesn't have the same quality of ball striking though. It's like getting a much better version of pienaar.

The best he's played was for Spain during Lopetegui's time. He was the best Spanish player going. Leading to the world cup he really was something else. Sadly the coach got fired and the team fell apart. He also played really well for Carlo. Him and James had a play making axis that was so good all the forwards had to do was hang around the box and bang em in. If you don't believe in him just watch the 17 CL final. He had June chasing shadows.

These are players I've always dreamt of us having. Let's thank our lucky stars that because of Carlo it's now a possibility.

There's no magic to be worked here. This guy can seriously ball. Get him fit, get him on the pitch and he obviously fits Carlos system. Basically it's sacrificing Gomes for a monster. Pray this happens mate, just pray.

There will be magic needed. Unlike James, Isco is a player Zidane actually supported and gave plenty of minutes and unconditional support. He always had a role on the team and he still somehow managed to get out of shape and regress as a player. Zidane was to Isco what Carlo is to James.

So if Zidane who adored the player couldn't get him to remain at a level expected for a professional player, why should we just assume that Carlo can?

My only hope is that sometimes a change of venue motivates a player. New team, seeing James' resurgence, and wanting to prove people wrong can get him back to move forward again in his career.

But yes, some magic will need to be worked to rescue him.

Whilst I agree he is class when in top form I think it was Zidane who gave him his break not Carlo. Carlo favoured James and Di Maria in those positions. He’s probably aware of him though and how good he was as a young player so if Carlo wants him then that’s good.

It would send a clear message as well that once again we are buying yet another midfielder because Sigurdsson is just not good enough even to cover Gomes for one game. It would seemingly be Isco first choice and then Gomes cover if we played the same formation. Hopefully we can punt Sigurdsson in January for a fee and get his wages off the book and maybe even help the cash flow if Isco comes in for less.

Just imagine!

--------------------DCL--------------------
Richarlison-------------------James---
--------------------Isco---------------------
---------Doucoure-----Allan-------------
Digne-----Godfrey --Keane----Coleman
------------------Pickford------------------

Our second 11 would be:

-------------------Tosun--------------------
Gordon----------------------------Bernard--
-------------------Gomes-------------------
-----------Delph--------Gbamin----------
Nkounkou----Mina---Holgate----Kenny
--------------------Olsen--------------------

So 3rd 11:
-------------------Simms------------------
Bolasie-----------------------------Iwobi
-----------------Sigurdsson--------------
------------Davies-------Besic-----------
Gibson--Branthwaite--Penn.-----John
-------------------Virginia------------------

That's quite an expensive 3rd string!!

Ha tbf a lot of that expense (especially wage draining will be gone within the next year. I hope we can finnally concentrate on just chucking £100m at 3 top players then.

But the fact to me is, that if Carlo wants him, then you absolutely bring him in. If Carlo believes he can get him back and that he can be part of the project, you sign him.

Look despite everything I've said about Isco, he is still an upgrade over Gomes and he can actually hold the ball which none of our midfielders are good at. He is superior to Gomes in passing and dribbling, so he will do well in that role and podes well in the PL with so many teams pressing. Teams that press seem to be our toughest matchups and he immediately helps solve that issue.

He played the role for Carlo before and was phenomenal, especially his connection with James. If Carlo has faith in the man, I will too even though I have my reservations

I agree with this 100%.
I’ve got reservations about him but I think that if CA believes he can get him fit and firing again then a front 4 of:

james Isco Richarlison

DCL

Would quite simply be something to behold.

If he wants to get paid for nothing he will stay at Madrid in the sun. If he comes here he clearly has something to prove..also people worried about the defensive side of his game he will be replacing GOMES, he literally could not be worse at that part of the game.
