I think you're overlooking the happy medium between paying too little and getting a good deal for the good of the club, but paying enough to make the player feel we believe they're worth the transfer fee. I'm okay with 10 million for him.

Yes, for the financial elite it always is. Not to that extent for a club like ours.

We paid £27M for Lukaku two seasons back - entirely justified given his time here already and the obvious fact the feller can get goals. We're now just two summers later throwing the same cash at a player like Bolassie who has an atrocious scoring and assist record.

If alarm bells aren't ringing on the type of signings Koeman is bringing in - for what looks like expediencies sake - then it should be. More than any other club outside the elite we are throwing insane levels of cash at questionable levels of ability.

I bet the owners of Liege are knocking back the Stella right now shifting that lad onto us for £10.4M.

I wouldn't say it's a fairly low price. Even in the current market £10m+ is a significant amount.

I consider it pretty low since Championship clubs want 15m+ for their strikers

Well I'll tell you what Dave finishing 7th compared to 11th is about 8m so if it makes you feel any better that will cover the cost of Lookman

I know nowt about this player but it seems those who have watched him rave about his workrate. That's all us fans want to see (even if ability is limited - remember Straquilarsi).
