Or maybe people have more faith in the director of footballs ability to judge a player no one had heard of better than your opinion to judge him mate

shocking that i know
Or maybe we expect proven quality at reasonable prices to take us to a higher level rather than shopping in the bargain basement and hoping that we unearth a gem

Which is why we are also buying proven players like Schneiderlin

BTW latest report is saying the figure could actually be 4m Euros for this lad, does that change your opinion if true?

and he cost us 28m, stone cost 2.5m and we sold him for 47m, so using your logic stones was a better signing mate

Coleman cost us 60k

Nigel Martyn cost us nothing

Probably as many as had heard of mahrez or kante or gueye before they arrived mate.

You wanted Walsh to do what he does best, well here you go, lookman for 7.5m and this lad is him doing that.
Lukaku: best signing because he has been amazingly consistent as a scorer for us for 3 and a half seasons and we'll double our money on him. Stones did nothing here as far as I'm concerned. Coleman isa good signing but limited as a defender and we wont get mega money. So, as said, Lukaku the best signing for two generations.

Lookman and Belfodil are the new Kante and Mahrez. Ok mate.

Seems a bit odd that he didn't make the Algeria squad, but maybe that's because he's only turned it on fairly recently.

Got to trust Koeman/Walsh on this one, from this short youtube video he looks decent in the air. I suspect he'll be our 'Pelle' and like Pelle I expect he'll do well because we'll play to his strengths by whipping balls into the box constantly.

Not overly plussed at this one, but I'll trust RK and SW that he could be good. The Youtube vid doesn't give me much hope though. Not sure he'd have scored many of those in the prem except the free kick as I suspect that prem defenders may be a tad better at marking him (most goals he seemed fairly static, not like he's making amazing runs that weren't picked up or anything). Had to chuckle when he tried real hard not to score from zero yards out at 1:02 in the vid.

Thing that scares me with players like this is that while they may have a good patch it's rare that they can produce season after season...just look at Mahrez this year vs. last.

Even from YouTube vids that I watched who make most players look good, I am not impressed by this guy at all. I hope am proved wrong. It's certainly not a signing am get excited about.

Twitter, facebook, other football forums.

Just 1 of many posts.

"Not content with spaffing £13m on Niasse last year, Everton are looking to go one better by spending another £10.5 on Belfodil who is appalling. Abysmal record in Serie A. I really don't see why they are in for him."

Played for Lyon aged 17-20 got 10 games = 0 goals
Went on loan done crap
Signed for Parma and done alright, alright enough to get signed by Inter
Went on loan done crap
Back to Parma, waived his right to wedge and terminated his own contract as they went bust, needed a club so went to Baniyas club for a year. Came back and signed a deal with Standard Liege with whom he is currently with

So people buzzing off him would be Lyon fans basing that on 10 appearances as a kid and Bologna and Livorno loans and probably Inter Milan.

Sure Standard Liege fans don't mind him and I should imagine Parma fans wouldn't be too harsh on him.

I'd already said that it makes sense if it's just to pad the squad. He looks like a 4m player.

Who knows what they will be mate, I'd never heard of Mahrez, Kante before they became brilliant apparently overnight at leicester.

Lookman could be a Andros Townsend mark 2, or he could turn out as a sterling, Walcott, Chamberlain, Bale type - no one realy knows do they, so slating a reasonable fee for someone highly touted seems a tad silly.

The market on lower league players prices has shot up massively for any young attacking player, you either pay it or you don't bring any young attacking playerts in and then you would criticise that policy also no doubt about it.

This lad - honest to God - never heard of him, he could turn out terrible, he could turn out to be a useful player - and the fee has been reported as being a lot lower than 12m euros by one belgium source as well
