What will Brentford do? Nobody will buy a high value player they have. His contract will have a little over a year to run at the end of the ban so his value will decrease. Do they stop paying him? After all must be grounds not to pay a player you can’t use

Brentford, it's simple they'll think, what would the Everton board do. Realise what they've just said and gamble it all on red !

So, now he's banned from footy related activity, does he have an 8 month window where he can bet on footy all he likes?

Also, there's a few other fairly recent cases this doesn't stack up so well against, j.barton for one.

To be fair the rule is absolute crap. Betting on your own games etc I agree with but having a 5 team acca on league 1 games etc I don’t have an issue with. He broke the rules so gets a ban but the rules are crap.
I think it's to stop what we have recently seen in snooker.

It’s like there out to prove a few points here. They handing out 8 month bans here then I think Everton will get smashed for FFP and city will get nuked.
They've form against individuals, they aint taking on the top tier earners. city wrap up the CL and then get squashed by the rules & regs? I can't see it.
Longest serving top tier club, sank by a supposed single infringement of 'P&S' whilst simultaneously 12 months away from a state of the art iconic water front stadium?

Just say that last line out loud.

This is the same bunch of greasy ball-bags that ok'd newcastles takeover, you know, the Jamal Khashoggi murderers that were caught on tape.

hang on, "Just say that last line out loud"....

;)

Can't even train though they say gambling is an addiction, an illness in some cases, being cut off from you're job, work environment leads to boredom, which leads to possibly more gambling. I feel he should at least be allowed to train. We would be fuming if it was say DCL.
But by the same token there’s a train of thought that says he can’t be in a position where could influence his teammates to perform certain acts (kicking the ball out for throw ins at a certain point etc)
He’s got enough £ to pay for a personal trainer (assuming his employers don’t) and help to help kick any gambling addiction.

They won't bin him, he might maybe end up on reduced wages, but if they booted him, he'd have offers instantly. His contract is worth to much to Brentford to allow this to put a first teamer out to dry.

Wait would this work for some of our own players? Name the court and I'll testify.

Mitrovic got 8 games for abusing a referee as well
It's the snooker aspect, how many levels of the game into question because of who he could have been asking/threatening to behave. Imagine he had a hotline to league one where players were getting booked/sent off in the same games. It's similar in concept to the cricket fiasco's we've seen of dot balls bowled etc.
