Same as McNeil, poor on the ball today but both of them worked very hard off the ball and in the team shape.

The last few seasons when we’ve not played well with the ball (most games) we’ve been far too easy to play against, meaning we’ve collapsed. In part that been having players like Iwobi and Gray plying the wide roles - this team and McNeil and Harrison look like they will at least work and be hard to beat - which is a step in the right direction.

Neither wing was very good today. But Everton also didn’t press much higher up the pitch. Both disciplined in defense but pretty poor with the ball (McNeil was nudge off the ball far too often)

His decision to shoot in the first half when he had great options open on either side is my pet hate in football players. Yes, you scored a worldy earlier in the season, Jack, but that doesn’t now make you a world beater, and we aren’t a team who can afford to waste chances in tight games.
McNeil shooting when Chermiti was open too, wish our players would trust our strikers more.
