But I get your point, mate. Lennon and Presley do seem to escape the sort of treatment they might deserve. I suppose that's showbiz. To be fair to Elvis, he had the voice of an angel. To be fair to Lennon, he was part of the best white pop band the world has seen.

The thing is, this isn't about Lennon and Elvis.

Because, McBain, in the music world, it has often been stated that black musicians, and black bands, have not been given a fair crack of the whip when it comes down to rating their talents. Hence, we even arrived at the situation in which music awards entirely for black artists were invented. The fact is, the Beatles are considered the best band ever, in most polls conducted. Some people ask whether those polled even understand the immense influence of black musicians.

Thus, many people readily shout the exploits of the Beatles from the rooftops yet seem oblivious to acts like, for example, the Temptations,.

I think these Wikipedia claims are ridiculous.

Nothing was ever proved.
