That was down to baffling tactics and rigid style of play for which we didn't have the right players at times. The last match no matter how dead rubber against Norwich saw the chemistry restored. There was amazing chemistry in RM's first season and in patches during his 2nd and 3rd season (games like Chelsea home and that 6-1 win over Sunderland I think). It will be restored with better players but better defense which is the key. Entire confidence gets shattered with a defense that conceded 2 to 3 goals on avg.

My heart says this, but with Baines, Galloway and possibly Garbutt still here there's not really space/need for himI think even having 3 1st team LBs is pushing it as they won't all get playing time.
On the topic of other players who may go, personally I hope Osman and Hibbert both stay in some capacity. People talk about how Hibbert is an old school, no nonsense, tackle first ask questions later, loves to actually defend, defender (before he got old and slow), and there aren't many of those about any more. So why would you want to get rid of that? Osman was widely considered as one of our most technically gifted players, even when Arteta and Pienaar were here, comfortable with the ball at his feet etc etc. Both have been at the club all their lives and are Evertoninas thru and thru. I think we should keep them on on a non-playing contract, and let them train up as coaches.
I see Galloway as CB in the long run and Baines is 32 this year. Oviedo's a decent defender and has good pace and cross in him. But I would understand if he is let go. As for Hibbert and Osman, I'd give Osman another year as a player but his role won't be in 1st team unless we are injury hit. Hibbert is done for me. A great no nonsense defender and tackler but at 35 I think the game is too fast for him now. He has been getting lots of injuries as well and with Pennington and Browning coming through I'd put Hibbert in a coaching role. Also we need a good challenge/backup for Coleman as probably Pennington will be out for loan spells.

Possibly, but for another season or two Galloway would make a perfectly adequate back up to Baines, and I don't think Ovideo would want to hang around another year as a back up when he could definately start elsewhere. We also seem to have more young CBs coming through than LBs, from what I have gathered.

Howard, Osman, Hibbert, McGeady and Pienaar are almost certain to go.
I think Gibson might be given another year to be honest, Oviedo might join someone like Celtic if Moyes goes there for Izaguirre (@Mikey_Fitzgerald ?)
Lukaku will be a major move in terms of selling.
That leaves us needing a new keeper, cover for right back (browning/Kenny ?), maybe two of three squad players. If De Boer comes in then I expect Milik to replace Romelu, maybe bring in a couple of players like El Ghazi or Viktor Fisher ?

I wouldn't be averse to any of the above leaving, Oviedo though is useful for squad depth.

Same here but I think Garbutt and Browning/Jonjoe should be eased into the squad. Oviedo going to celtic with moyes is just something im thinking may happen, not based on any facts or that but a good replacement for izaguirre IMO.
Also forgot to mention tarashaj is coming in this summer too.

Good points, I just think that Oviedo leaving would indicate a deeper cull, I think he is limited but has his uses, I doubt if he'll be here in 18 months.
