IF you consider Everton a business then probably the right decision is to part ways or restructure Barry's contract. I am not saying Barry is worthless i am saying he is worth less.

In footballing terms though our squad is very thin as it is so after binning all the inevitables you think it wise to sell our POTY? I'm not saying build the team around him next season but he's an invaluable asset for the club with all the academy players becoming more involved. Do you think Davies and Dowell would have faired as well without Barry on Sunday? He'd be very far down on my list of people to sell this summer.

People also need to remember it's a tournament summer so the window will be more hectic and we don't want to leave ourselves majorly short come August.

Maybe I am misunderstanding this thread. I was under the assumption this was about 10 players whom we think the FO will get rid of. I think they would get rid of Barry and then I thought through the justification of the action.

Didnt they axe Heitinga just after his POTY award?

No he had a shocking season after his POTY season before we let him go to Fulham on a free. There are 10 other names in the squad that can and should be picked before Barry. His experience alone should be used in the academy after he retires here.
 
If the club want to pay me 1% of the transfer fee plus expenses I will hawk Oumar all round Russia and China for them.
 

I'd definitely keep Ossie for another year. I think Martinez made a huge mistake in benching him for so much of the season.

This is absolute music to my ears! So many terribly below-par players finally leaving our great club. Some of them having stuck around far, far too long and cost the club millions despite giving very little back in return. I've longed for the day we see the back of Hibbert and Osman, plus saying goodbye to Gibson, Pienaar and Howard is a major boost, and it'll be like winning the lottery if we can find, somehow, takers for Kone, Niasse and McGeady. I also believe if we get a real top manager in we could even see the likes of Oviedo and Cleverley going. Massive turnover, but desperately needed! Let's be honest, to 'replace' all of the above we'd only need to bring in five real good players, thus pushing the likes of Jagielka, McCarthy, Lennon, Mori onto the bench and providing real competition for places.
