Jags!

Congratulations to the cat on here who told me about this before it broke in the press, nice one sauce lid.

It would be ridiculous to let him go unless the player pushed for it himself.

We haven't become a talent breeding ground for rich clubs so do one.

Although it could be argued that that is exactly what we have become and, in our current financial position, it is the best way forward.

Eh Mr Giraffe. Having thoroughly researched the issue, we calculated that there was no need in the Everton accounts to sell any players whatsoever for the next two years.

So I don't know what you're on about talking about Everton's "financial position".

If we wanted to bring in we may need to sell, but - what incentive do we have to bring in when we've got someone more than adequate to do the job?

Especially for that money being offered.

Silly Arsenal fans. Don't know their ARSE from their elbow.

Apparently (according the the mirror) they're going to table a revised bid of £16 million.

If this was true, and as much as I hate to say this, I would take it. I love Jags so much, but we're skint. Heitinga and Distin at CB would be alright, and with that much cash we could buy a top striker, or a winger. It's a horrible situation though, where we've got to sell to buy.

This. And we're not skint. Skint makes out like we can't pay our players or something ffs.

We are skint, compared to our contemporaries. They're strengthening their squads, and we're not really.

We don't really need to buy though mate.

I've got to disagree. As it stands, we don't have an in-form senior striker. We don't have left back cover. We don't have a dedicated RM/RW player.

Compare that to Spurs and Man City. They're covered for all of them. Now, perhaps Anichebe can cover RM effectively next season, in which case I'll withdraw that claim. And maybe the Yak will hit his stride. And maybe Baines won't get injured. The point is though, you've got to have the depth to prepare for all situations. We were caught out last season, and adding another keeper and 3 unproven (PL) strikers, is not going to prevent the same thing from happening.

Anyway, I would hate to see Jags go. He's one of my favourite players, and one of our best, but so was Lescott and selling him benefited the club immensely.

On the other hand mate, whats the point in having really talented youngsters unless there is space in the squad to allow them to break through.
