Well no but he did play for West Ham for years and played in Europe for them.

I just don’t see why people have such a problem when you suggest one of our players is merely a decent solid player for our level. We seem to always have players that are among the best in the league yet we’re always absolute crap. I think we like to comfort ourselves by telling ourselves that certain players who will never leave, are world beaters.
We always over rate our players.

But we see Tarks playing every week and it's a very high level. I see no reason why he couldn't do it for a better team.

Nathan Ake plays for City for example.

What?! Tarkowski could play in most teams in world football?
Could he get a game at Man Utd? Chelsea? Villa? Spurs?
As for world football. Smalling featured at Roma? Tomori at ac Milan. We are just signing a centre back from Lyon.
And I’m pretty sure he would get a game in every side out side of the top 5 leagues.

Never seen him kick a ball but anyone who cuts their own hair is bound to be a top quality centre half.

Absolutely correct, its something we do to a fault. Maybe im doing it unknowingly to Tarks, but i dont think i am.

He was mate, though he got on top of it after he left here.

They were all on the scene at the same time in Dublin - Alan Quinn was there to, would have played with him as well, he went on to play for Sheff Weds, Utd and Ireland.

Damien was Northside i think though he went to school in Churchtown he played for St Kevin's but ended up at De La Salle College before going to Blackburn i think im right in saying, Robbie came from Fettercarn in Tallaght another tough place back then - Crumlin Utd picked him and then he went to Wolves, Richard was Killinarden a really tough area in Tallaght but he actually crossed the City and went to Home Farm as i believe he had a family connection - at the time Everton had an arrangement with them and Richard moved to us. Alan was Clondalkin and was picked up by Cherry Orchard then Sheff Weds.

Looking back it was a mad time to play with players of that quality in the area - of course at the time you didn't know. I think all four went on to win the U18 Euros, play in the PL and play for Ireland in major tournaments etc. Many as good fell by the wayside unfortunately.

Alan in particular was unreal, used to have to boot him up in the air to get the ball of him.
Damien was a southsider from Ballyboden
Played A schoolboy football with Leicester Celtic , Lourdes Celtic and then Kevins
He came from a fairly well to do family
His father was his manager for years
Richie family were steeped in home farm and he had a couple of relatives who were Irish international
Always destined for big things
Robbie came from a really rough area

Weird how none of them wanted to sign him when he was a free agent like.
Tbf Newcastle and Villa did. In fact Villa were confident they had a deal done.

But yeah, there's nothing wrong with having a quality option to come in for either of the first two. Tarkowski has been great but he's not infallible and is 31. Branthwaite - he'll be gone inside the next year, we all know that.

Very good signing this.

I managed a schoolboy team in the same league as Duffer from Under 10 to under 17
Then they found drink and women 😂😂😂😂😂

Nathan Ake is a top top player
He plays as much if not more than most of City’s CB’s

Interesting fact
Brian O Driscoll played half a season for me as an 11 yr old
His father was a doctor who played rugby for the Ireland B team
He was always destined for rugby
I had an EUFA licence coach helping me out and he reckoned O Driscoll was a stand out football player who had the potential to go all the way even at 11 yrs of age
