Way I see it, if he shows up in training and turns out to be on of our better players, you try to convert to a back 3 and use Mcneil/Garner as the wingbacks. If he comes in rawer than an adult entertainer trying to knock up Riley, we REALLY need to pursue a starting fullback at the very least. I’m a firm believer that you should try to get your best players onto the pitch if possible, and our fullbacks have not filled me with confidence- and now we have to worry about Myko’s health. It will be a test to see if Dyche can adapt if we can’t bring them in.

At first glance it doesn't seem like a need, but in reality we're actually thin there now and frankly both Branthwaite and Tarkowski will either be gone or should be relegated to the bench within 2 years. Also assuming they can play as much as they did last season is risky.

Carlo did it also, Pep essentially plays with 3 CB and a FB in Walker, Arteta seems to be going that way also long term.

We clearly want to shift Holgate and Keane has apparently asked to leave. So we need some depth.

We cannot go into the season with Holgate and Keane as our alternate options.

I think that would be a bad back 3 and I don't really think you can accomplish what Dyche wants by removing a midfielder.
