2024/25 Jake O'Brien

Just don’t think he will be tbh. An absent owner and a takeover that is months away.. can’t see him going anywhere this season.

Hope you're wrong but a good chance you aren't mate.

Worrying if so though as can't see Dyche changing and what he's doing isn't working and he's showing signs this season of the pressure getting to him as well

Yes I did but on hindsight he would have been a decent option now, but as you rightly said we cannot have it both ways. I think most of us agree though that Mykolenko is going through a rough time and teams are targeting him.
I honestly can't say with any certainty about the other games this season, but he looked iffy yesterday. Vaguely recall him at fault for one Brighton goal. Spurs dunno. In his defence he's been injured on and off since end of season, usually reliable but does need competition for his place.

Would like to see him and Branthwaite (when fit) given a chance to see how it works. Tarkowski and Keane is not working. Keane is his usual self and Tarkowski is not much better at this present moment.
I genuinely think that Keane changes the way others play around him because they know he's unreliable, which cause others to look worse because of the covering they do for his failings.

Totally agreed, got a knock in the 1st minute yesterday and did seem to be struggling. It seems to be the only position apart from Ashley Young we have no cover for.

Think if Friedkin or Textor think their investments are at risk, they will soon have a word in the ear of Farhad.
They both have precedent in the past year of replacing a sacked manager with the youth team coach. It should be fairly simple for them, if they believe Tait/Baines would do 2 places better than Dyche then they should sack him and the performance bonuses would take care of the payout

I think centre half is far more important than full back. Full back is the one position where you can get a way with average players especially if they don’t need to go forward like in a Dyche team

But we should of course have the finances to do both
As a very limited Sunday pub league centre back plodder, I totally agree that CB is more important than either full back. However, our main defensive shortcomings at present are in full back positions and a reserve CB will not fix that.
Anyway, hopefully the international break can bring some luck, good form and/or a change of manager and we can discuss something a bit more positive.
