2024/25 Jake O'Brien

Can come on for Ireland v England but not deemed good enough to come on for EFC v Bournemouth. Worst decision ever by our incompetent manager.

He was obviously sent on to stop goals which he did against England he would probably have done the same against Bournemouth

So I have this right, you're referring to Ireland's substitute Jake O'Brien?

The player sat on the bench while O'Shea and Collins started the game. He wasnt deemed good enough to "stop goals" as a starter.

This Ireland team is full of Championship standard players mate, the rest are bottom half Prem quality at best.

How about the bench :o

I'm kidding, but hopefully O'Brien is as good as he's been built up to be.

I hope so too, looked the business in preseason.

….he doesn’t look ready to me, I suspect that’s why he’s not yet a starter for Ireland. You could see the difference with Branthwaite, so a bit unfair to think this lad is the same level. I also think Tarkowski is off the pace a bit which won’t help O’Brien.

Me either. He very raw, came on yesterday like a wrecking ball, badly disciplined and tactically a bit naive, caught up the pitch three or four times and had to pull people down.
